Great - Safe device
Well constructed. Easily detatchable and (and convenient)leash. Have not seen this in any other product. Just enough give to all dog some room and remain safe distance from the wheels and cars. Great way to give a dog more exercise, than just a walk, while on a leash. Consider walking the bicycle the first couple times to get the dog used to the feeling. Unsure how this would work out for long distances, but for our daily walk, it's going to work out nicely. Our dog is a 50 lb mix of lab/golden and ? - 11 months old and loves to run.

running is hard
This thing is great.I have big dogs. My dogs need exercise and happen not to be able to our run my dogs... And on top of that one of my dogs tires quickly and the other does not. I have 2 of these, one on each side on the same Bicycle and it works perfectly! My dogs are not allowed to pull when on leash, but i have trained them that when attached to the bike it is ok. Now i dont even have to peddle unless going uphill lol. they love it! and when the girl gets tired and the boy is still going, he pulls by himself while she just trots along. With the attachments on the back of the bicycle, they can pull to their hearts content and it amazingly doesnt make the bike unstable at all (even if they get distracted my something off to the side). My knees thank you Walky dog!

Saved My Wife
We have a very energetic dog. Walking her daily was just not enough. My wife decided to bike with her on a lease and chest harness (I strongly recommend a chest harness as opposed to an around-the-neck collar). After 2 endo's (this is when you exit your bike over the handle bars unexpectedly) and several bruised bones and ego, she said that was enough. We did a lot of research and chose the dog walky. What a great purchase. My wife can now safely bike the dog. She can keep 2 hands on the brakes and not on the dogs lease. The dog cannot go in front of the bike which caused one of her endos. Most importantly, when the dog runs towards something unexpectedly, the tug is on the bike seat and back tire, not the front. The result of this is a slight tug, easily adjusted to without any great concern over crashing the bike. One of the reasons we purchased this unit is because we can take the Dog Walky off the bike and use it as a walking lease. Great for trips to places you can't ride your bike. Also, because when you take the Dog Walky of your bike, the remaining attachment is very unobtrusive. It doesn't get in the way on normal biking or look unsightly. This is a must for anyone who wants to bike their dog. We also purchased a second attachment so that the dog can be biked by me as well as her.

It works
We have a six month old Rotti and this contraption works great. I bought the extra attachment so my wife and I can take turns biking with the dog. It's such a simple gadget, it seems weird to give it a high rating and it's too well made to give it a low rating. All in all, it does what it's supposed to do.

Good quality product that works great
Nice to have a clamp on each bike in the household. These WalkyDogs are a real conversation piece! At least once a week someone stops me to ask about it. Even had a neighbors repairman come by my house to ask questions about it, when he recognized the bike on the front porch. Both my dogs can run for miles at top speed. I just hang onto the handle bars, most of the time I am not even peddling. Do recommend a body harness. Only once had a spill and that was because a rabbit ran right in front of the bike - the dog was just as startled as I was. In the past even when I walked my dogs for five miles it wasn't enough activity for them and they are a medium sized collie and terrier. Until I got the WalkyDog I didn't full recognize the high energy level of my dogs. Nearly as much fun for me as for them.

Love it! Recommend it to all our friends at the dog park
Some reviewers have taught their dogs to pull on the harness to burn more energy, but I didn’t take that route and you can train your dog not to. Dogs are very much inclined to pull or at least lean on the harness for stability, but I didn’t want my dog to do that. He was already trained to keep tension out of the leash, and to heel on command, so it is straightforward to ask him not to lean. It does take a lot of practice, but we are in a city so he needs to be obedient to be safe. I correct him whenever I hear the springs in the WalkyDog creak. He is 60lbs and I am 150lbs. We have never had an issue with him pulling me over, though he did pull it over once when I wasn’t on it and scared the heck out of himself. I learned my lesson and now immediately switch him over to his leash before locking up my bike. This thing has been a godsend. It allows my dog to see more places, people, and things, and to burn off steam in a way that really settles him mentally, as opposed to winding him up the way fetch (Which! Is! Super! Exciting!) does. It has also helped desensitize him to traffic noise and bikes too of course. I use a cheap nylon harness rather than his collar. I started him with it at 6 months just for practice. Just one lap around the building. I don’t think most vets would recommend biking with your dog much under the age of 1 year. However that early introduction did make it easy as pie later on!My dog brings a lot of smiles when he’s on his bike rides.

Walky Dog Spare Attachment
This spare attachment for the Walky dog works just like the Walky dog attachment that comes with the pole attachment. I highly recommend a second attachment if you have more than one person who will take your dog out for a ride. My husband and I both take our dog for rides and it is nice to not have to remove the attachment each time one of us switches who takes the dog. It is definitely worth the extra money to not have an extra hassle
