The Rohent R4 Wired Backup Camera System is very easy to set up right out of the box. Since the entire unit is "hardwired" from the monitor to the camera, there's no need to worry about missed Bluetooth connections, wireless distance limitations, etc. Just mount your camera and run the cable to your monitor. The monitor has a also has power connection plug/cable that you will simply plug into your 12VDC accessory outlet. Right out of the box, everything worked well with the default settings. The only significant function I needed to adjust was the image rotation since mine was upside down by default. While I'm on the subject of adjustments, let me explain the adjustments menu is easily accessible and has 4 adjustment categories: (see photos) (1) "Pic"--This is basic adjustment of Brightness, Contrast, Saturation Level, and Color Tint. (2) "Car"-- This gives you ability to turn off channel 2 so it doesn't appear in the menu. (Of course, if you also have a 2nd camera installed on CH2 then leave CH2 "On") (3) "Mode"--This gives the ability to independently Rotate and/or Flip (Mirror) the view of either of both of your cameras. There is a "Zoom" function to change from 16:9 ratio to 4:3 ratio. (The supplied monitor is 16:9 ratio so I don't know why you would ever wish to change this.) (4) "Settings" --This gives the ability to change the language, see the firmware version, and do a factory reset. Note: You will not find the alignment gridline control in that menu. Knowing that typical users want to quickly & easily turn that on & off without navigating menus. Rohent smartly put that function on the SELECT button --just toggle it on/off with that button---no need to find it in a menu! The system boots up very quickly. The image quality is great, especially since it's 1080P on the nice 7" screen (which also has an optional hood to prevent glare on the screen.) The angle of view seems really good--wide without causing too much distortion. The night vision works well also as expected. If you prefer to ONLY have the camera on when backing up, you can connect the blue trigger wire to you reverse light. The only function I would like to see added is backlight control to allow compensation for those times when the sky is a lot brighter than the road down below.

With its sharp image quality, it makes the system a reliable and efficient solution for enhancing rear visibility in big and oversized vehicles. Extremely happy with my purchase of the Rohent Backup camera. At first when I opened the box I was concerned that the screen might be too small. But after setting the system up and testing it, I realized it is the perfect size for an addon backup camera. The small screen provides a very clear image out the back of the car, yet is easy to place on the dash without obstructing the view out the front windshield. It was very easy to run the video cable hidden under the side floor panels to the front of the car. The instructions for setup are quite clear. My wife and I are seniors and our necks are no longer flexible. The Rohent backup cameras have solved a major safety issue, when backing up our cars. If you are considering the purchase of a backup camera, Rohent is the way to go. Great quality, easy to setup and inexpensive. We are soon going to place the Rohent system in my sons car, Rohent provided the system for free.

Decent back up camera! Pairs well either way aftermarket head unit in an 05 Tahoe! The only thing that would make it better would be a clearer picture. Install was really easy, plenty of wire included.

So far this works great. I bought this to replace one I ordered from another seller that didn't work at all. I already had wiring in place so I just mounted it, plugged it in. Picture is clear. I haven't used it at night yet to see how the led lights work. Very happy with purchase and would recommend this camera.

I bought this camera for my 2003 Corolla because the reviews were mainly good, the price was reasonable, the monitor size was good and suited my car, and it has a decent 2 year warranty with good customer support. The kit arrived quickly and was well packaged. As per the instructions I tested the camera system before installing it and everything worked as expected except I couldn’t get the guide lines to appear. A little more reading of customer reviews soon solved that issue – the yellow video cable from the camera must be plugged into the white RCA jack from the monitor. The installation went smoothly. I removed the external trunk trim to drill a hole to pass the camera leads into the trunk, then installed a grommet and sealed it with silicon for weather proofing. When the trim was reinstalled the wire / hole was not visible. I tapped into the reverse light circuit wiring in the trunk lid which proved to be very convenient and able to power the camera & monitor with no problem. The cable to the monitor was installed using the same route as the vehicle wiring harness. Mounting the monitor took a little thought as there isn’t much free space on the Corolla dash and I didn’t want to locate the monitor on the top of the dashboard as it would block the driver’s vision. I noticed the round disc on the rear of the monitor and discovered that it’s steel so could be held by a magnet. My solution was to mount a small rectangle of plywood on the blank lower part of the radio using double-sided tape and two small self-taping screws. A sheet-metal bracket, with a small lip which fits under the monitor for support, attached to the plywood with screws. Two rare-earth magnets then securely held the monitor to the sheet-metal bracket. Sounds a bit convoluted but it looks good and works fine. I sent an email query regarding the “Buy one get one” offer to the support address and got a very quick, polite reply. I sent a second email to clarify that the small black tab on the monitor screen was in fact to remove a protective film and again got a rapid reply assuring me that my assumption was correct, and also letting me know that my product of choice had been mailed and should arrive within a few days. The reason for getting the backup camera was to simplify backing down our rather long driveway. My wife and I are seniors and at times it’s difficult to twist around far enough to look straight back. The camera has definitely been a big help to us both. The clarity of the picture and the guide lines really do help. My wife was returning home a few days ago and I watched her back down the driveway using the camera – I was really impressed as she hasn’t done such a perfect job in years. Usually she has to make several corrections before she’s parked. Great product and price with excellent support – what more can you ask for?!
