The sliding door can be a great space saving idea, especially where doors open into the same space as you can see from the picture of my room where a cupboard is located beside a kitchen entrance. To save the clash of space I fitted a sliding door to the kitchen allowing access at all times to the cupboard. Some reviewers expected a door with it for some reason! It's cheap enough as a mechanism but everyone's idea of what door they want will vary so the manufacturers would have to provide a massive choice of doors if that were the case! Come on guys, be reasonable. The mechanism itself works beautifully being smooth and relatively quiet. You'll need to consider a steadying method for the bottom of the door because it's only properly secured on the rail itself. The manufacturers recommend making a slot along the base of the door but I preferred to buy a few guides available on Amazon for a few quid that keep the bottom of the door from swinging around. The door I fitted is very heavy and the manufacturer warns about getting advice on how to fix the rail safely and firmly in place. If the door fell onto a child or older person it could cause serious injury so heed the advice to avoid this possibility. I fitted this one several months ago and it's still working perfectly despite this being a heavy trafficked area. Definitely recommend this one for it's superior quality and safe design. Great solution for restricted space issues.

Quality of hinges, steel ... Good.Quality of rotating door hanger with wheels, steel... excellent.Quality of rail, steel (slots together) ... average.Quality of lateral support to wall (between wall and rail), plastic ... pathetic -1/10.This is the most important part as it cantilevers with a bending force and is structural, and its made out of plastic. The plastic makes the doors drops 10-15mm.M8 screws which have a wood thread accompanied by poor quality pine dowells... again poor all round.Video also shows that door is compatible to have a four-panel, 3 hinge combined varient. For this you need 9 hinges as per the installation instructions, 6 were provided. When I enquired how much to purchase more I was quoted the item free but freight £30, wow. Went and bought a whole set of 9 for £6.What a waste of £170.
