These are amazing. I have gone through 3 other kinds of compasses with my students before I invested in these. These are hands-down the best compasses ever. They stay put when you set the radius and they are so easy to use!!! Don't waist your time and money on others. Buy these while the price is right!

Standard item, easy to use

This seems to be a returned item, with damaged box and a visible scratch on one compass - see pics. However no issues with functionality, and want to avoid a return-rebuy. Infact the compasses are well made, hence giving 4*. Seller was 'Cualork Direct'.

I don't have much to say about this pair of compass/dividers except that they should be quite usable for classes in mechanical drawing and drafting and possibly light professional drafting. I checked them out, and they seem fairly durable. They are made from stamped steel with a glossy painted finish; so they should hold up under normal use and resist rust and deterioration from handling. These aren't expensive, but they are metal and have a threaded adjustment knob. This means that if I set the radius to be drawn at a certain length, it should stay that way until I change it. Cheaper plastic compasses often just depend on a friction joint at the pivot and are difficult to keep from inadvertent spreading as they are used. The kit I received had extra points, leads and clamp screws. Recommended.
