AWESOME! Great for Steam game streaming
I had a lot of trouble trying to get Steam streaming to work without having a monitor attached.Without a monitor attached, every once in a while, the game would actually start properly with sound. But generally it wouldn't, or at I'd have picture but no sound. This little emulator has worked out perfectly. I have my main PC set up to log in automatically and start Steam. When I'm ready to stream a game from my laptop, it's totally ready-to-go. No issues ; full resolution and sound.I ready setting up TeamViewer should work as well; there's some magic there. However, I didn't want to rely on another piece of software. With this adapter, I turn the PC on and it's good-to-go.

Such a little thing but it makes a big difference for headless servers
I cannot believe that I have been in IT for over 30 years and didn't know that these exist. I was literally thinking one day "I wonder if someone has come up with a dummy HDMI connector that tricks the server into thinking that there is a high-resolution monitor attached for better remote access" Well obviously someone was way ahead of me. These work perfectly and make things much easier for me on some older machines that revert to 640x480 when there is no monitor connected when it boots. Now when I connect with TeamViewer, I get a full range of resolution options to choose from, making remote work SO MUCH EASIER.

great for headless systems
Needed a few DELL towers to boot to NVIDIA cards without monitors. Plug these into card and system boots up fine. Low cost, does exactly what I needed.

Great for headless VMs
I use these for a few qemu virtio headless VMs to dummy out a passed-through GPU's video output. They work as advertised, and simulate the EDID of a display connected at up to 4K resolution flawlessly. Simple yet effective, no more dummy monitor needed to get output from my GPU in a VM.

Get better resolution without having a monitor attached.
This works well with Arduino so that you do not need to have a monitor display attached and it will then allow you to get better resolution by accessing your graphics card. Get better resolution without having a monitor attached. These are nice and small and does not take up a lot of space. Works exactly as advertised.

Need to cast in Win10? These are the ticket.
I know everyone is giving these good reviews for Remote Desktop and VM applications but I actually bought these to solve a different problem. Windows 10 took away the ability to create multiple virtual desktops on some video cards with a recent update. That threw a wrench in my ability to cast to a 70” tv in my office like I could with my previous PC. Ugh. Anyhow, got to thinking about it and figure these would be perfect as I have unused HDMI and DisplayPort plugs on my vid card.Sure enough these make it easy to cast in 4K. Truly plug and play. Slap it in to an empty port on your vid card, go to display settings and set the resolution for your display then rock and roll in Chrome. Don’t know why I didn’t think of this sooner!
