Turtles and Tortoises For Dummies

My 11 yr old is obsessed with turtles and has loved this book! I have to admit I found it pretty interesting as well - it’s laid out well, provides plenty of detail and pictures, and it’s full of all the things you would want to know about titles and tortoises.

I got this book for my son. We have a tortoise and ten turtles. The book was very helpful in guiding us in building a tortoise enclosure. Although we've had a turtle for many years, we learned a lot from the book.

This book is a very useful reference for beginners or ever veterans with keeping reptiles.I bought this just as a reference in case I ever really needed it and because it had a great price.The book is really easy to read with everything written it easy to understand words.Even a child could easily read and understand this book.Overall I would buy this book if you have or are considering getting a turtle or tortoise this book even helps you select the best kind of turtle or tortoise for you.

I like it. Nothing very in depth but if you are looking into getting one of these pets it is very informative and helpful in deciding the kind you want based on personal preference as well as the area you live in.

Teaching me things about turtles I never knew.

A must read before you get a turtle as a pet. Filled with valuable information about breeds, care and general turtle information. Makes a great gift for turtle lovers.

Great book, it is ideal if you want to care for a tortoise or turtle. The books contains information on preparing to purchase a tortoise, what to feed them and also how to enable breeding. I would recommend this book to anyone thinking of buying a tortoise, just so you now what care will be needed throughout it or their lives.

This book is a really good to use and have when thinking about keeping turtles or tortoises!I am a beginner in this area of pets and wanted a book which would point me in the right direction of species, care and housing and this book did not let me down!It contains pretty much everything you need to know as well as information about different species, their origin, behaviour, which foods are and arent suitable as well as helping you to figure out which tortoise or turtle is the right one for you. I feel entirely confident after reading it and it has helped me to gain knowledge through the writers own experiences.The way the book is written provides understanding of different aspects or categories of tortoise/turtle care and it is as if the person is having a conversation with you. Easy to read with clear and precise sections.I would advice this book to anyone who isnt too sure about keeping chelonians or for those who are beginners.

I had hoped for more information but then maybe I am not as much as a dummy as I thought I was! Good for beginners but does have a lot on the turtle side of turtle/tortoise. I did learn that all tortoises are turtles but not all turtles are tortoises (I think!).

All the FOR DUMMIES books are brilliant and this ones no exception it covers absolutely everything you need to know about tortoises, terrapins and turtles. I brought it because I have a baby tortoise and it's been so helpful buy it you won't be disappointed

It's full of species of torts and turts but very little practical advice or helpful tips. Wouldn't recommend unless you are trying to figure which species to choose.
