XY2831_4pk Air Pump Sponge Filter for Aquarium,Black

Very happy with the quality of this brand of sponge filter. I had a larger version previously and liked it very much, running for about half a year now without problems. Decided to get this smaller size so that I could use it in my 5 gallon tanks on my fish rack re-do and I am very pleased with the quality. I thought some things might be simplified on the smaller size but it is a high quality miniature of the one I had previously. All fittings are there, still adjustable, and still has two suction cups, which is a must for me. I appreciate also that there is a loop for the airline to go through to hold everything neatly.As a general aside, I love the 2-sponge design as it allows me to easily cyle new tanks as I just swap one of the sponges.Will update if there are any problems, I bought 16 of them and so I should have a pretty representative sampleTook pictures of the bulk packaging and of the dimensions so that people can plan their setups out. The filter is about 6.5in tall but you get 1.5-2 inches from the extension (there is no "catch" to the extension so the farther it is extended the more likely the tube will fall off so keep that in mind). I geld it up to the back of a 5 gallon for comparison (fully extended, which may not be necessary) and I believe it is a perfect fit for that tank size

Likes: everything, I can’t put a matten filter in a 2 gallon spec with the reef filtration ripped out, just too big, but this works perfect. The color is easily hidden, the sponges and outlet rotate and adjust up and down, and if you buy the four pack you can swap sponges to instantly cycle new tanks. If you like sponge filters, these things are just too versatile and easy to use. Did I mention easier to clean than a sponge filter by far. LOVEM.

You can never have enough sponge filters. These are great for cycling and keeping your tank water crystal clear. And the price can't be beat

Exactly as expected. These sponge filters add mechanical filtration to the tank and, once established, the beneficial bacteria take over the huge amount of surface area of the sponges and provide great biological filtration. Easy on and off sponges. The output nozzles are height and direction adjustable giving you options for placement. Standard air hose connection makes installation a breeze. Quality made, classic filtration should be in every aquarium. And are in every one of my tanks.... 7 tanks, if you want to know.

Perfect little product. Does the job without getting nasty looking like over-the-back filters. It doesn't matter how hard your water is, you will never see hard water build-up on these. You will never see how much they have collected until you rinse them out, and then you'll be amazed. With the suction cups attached, it stays exactly where you want it, and looks good in the tank. As I said, a perfect little product.

I have 2 in my shrimp only tank (20 gal.), 2 in my betta sorority tank (20 gal.), 1 in my male bettas tank.( 10gal) They work great and have kept the water clear. I'm going to order another set. They come in very handy for emergencies like setting up a hospital tank.
