Worked well even with a head gash
I passed out and fell and hit my head on the corner of an antique dresser and had a multiple inch gash on my head. (To make the situation even worse, I take blood thinner.). I used this — along with some other items designed to quickly stop bleeding — to stop the profuse bleeding from my head. It worked quite well, for which I was thankful since I was home alone. Would definitely recommend!

Helpful for Blood Thinner Patients
Great value for an item that comes in handy in first aid kits for families or groups with older members who are on blood thinners or have collagen loss in their skin, making them easily prone to bleeding.

Smaller bleeding sites
Most come in larger sizes. These are great for stopping bleeds on smaller sites. Work fairly well.

Good for first aid kit
Got these for our first aid kit. I definitely think they will be effective when we’ll need them

Didn't work for me
I had a small cut on a finger that kept bleeding. I dug out one of these "stop bleeding" gauze pads and used it until it was completely soaked with blood but it never stopped the bleeding.

Stops bleeding- essential for home first aid
These pads were great when I accidentally cut my finger to the bone late at night. The copious bleeding was slowed and after one pad change I could tape my cut. Pressure needs to be applied to pad and if saturated change the pad. Elevate your finger and lie down. The pads are easy to use. I was alone. NOTE: If you need stitches because the blood won’t stop use the pads with pressure until you can go out to urgent care. These are for smaller cuts.
