The perfect baby gate. They’re sturdy, and retracts and locks easily so it’s not a pain to open and close multiple times a day. It also rolls up so it’s out of the way when I don’t need to use it. It’s such good quality I ended buying it multiple times to use around my house.

I installed this gate at the top of a stairway to keep a grandchild/toddler from falling down stairs. Provided great peace-of-mind. Very easy to open and close. Locking mechanism is sufficient for pets and very small children, but I think 4 and 5 year olds can quickly learn to unlock it. When retracted, it is very unobtrusive, and a good solution to small areas where a swinging gate won't work. I also liked the fact that with this style gate there is no bar across the bottom of the opening that could trip someone as they started down the stairs. It is easily removed from mounts for long-term storage. Gave it a 4 star rating because of the mounting hardware supplied with it. Screws provided are only 1" long, and will securely install mounts only if they are screwed directly into solid wood surfaces. I've never used the kind of anchors provided for attaching mounts to drywall, and they seemed to be flimsy at best. If securing the mounts to drywall, I would have used toggle bolts for a more secure attachment. Fortunately, there was a stud behind the drywall where the mounts were being installed, and I was able to use longer screws which securely attached the mounts to the stud. I used 2 1/2" screws because I had to also install a 3/4" spacer (which was not provided and I had to make) behind each of these mounts so that the gate would clear the baseboard. Price was very reasonable.

This works great to block the top of our stairs for our kid and dogs. Installation was easy. The auto close is easy for one handed use, and the lock prevents undesired use by the little ones. Works indoors and outdoors.

We got this gate installed to keep our dog from going upstairs. It is wonderful. It kind of reminds me of a roller shade except stronger. The materials are good quality and look to be sturdy. It easily pulls across the stair entrance and hooks to the wall. We put the hardware on the wall and the hooks on the stair edge and I could not have asked for a better gate and it's way easier than the traditional gates that are a pain to open and close. I wish they made a slightly smaller one as well since some of my walls have trim at the bottom and chair rail. But I am going to buy a few more of them. One for the dogs and one for my husband to keep him from sleep walking downstairs. I can see this would be great for dogs or kids. I would watch babies because it is mesh and I am not sure if the bottom is super tight but it is strong. My dog doesn't even bother trying to go upstairs now. I absolutely feel this is worth every penny because traditional gates are so hard to open and close and this is a breeze!!! When you are not using it, it neatly just retracts and it's very strong as I stated previously. It's so easy for my 9 year old and 19 year old to open and close.
