These are actually brass, at least in colorWork great for lamp repair and any item that uses a thread pipe, such as ceiling fixtures

Easy to work with
I use these nuts to build LED light fixtures for my yard and fence. I build the fixtures from 3/4" square steel tubing with a hole drilled at one end for wiring and the other end for a 1" section of hollow threaded rod. I use one of these nuts to secure the threaded rod inside the tube and another tightened on the outside portion of the threaded rod. These nuts have good sharp landing for needle nose plier to hold onto for setting threading the nut onto the threaded rod inside the square tube.

Nice burly brass stop nuts for 3/8" lamp thread. Cleanly machined with accurate threading. MUCH nicer than the average steel stop nut.
