Great Filament Dryer (with some caveats)
Overall, this is a great filament dryer with a few areas that could be improved. I'm able to use 4 year old PLA filament that's been exposed to extreme humidity as if it were brand new! Print quality is excellent with little-to-no stringing on filament that previously showed many flaws and stringing during printing. Very satisfied with the overall functionality and capabilities of this unit.I'll continue to use the S2 for drying out and printing old filament, however, there are a few shortcomings I hope are addressed in a future design revision: The lack of an exhaust fan or vents means humidity just builds up in the S2 during the drying process, so the cover needs to be opened a couple times while pre-drying very 'wet' filament to clear out the humid air. Once the filament has been pre-dried, the S2 can be run enclosed without venting...still, it would be great if Sunlu had integrated an exhaust fan. This can be mitigated to some extent by placing silica in the center of your spool, which will adsorb humidity released from the filament during the drying process. The single filament port is limiting as far as how the S2 can be placed. Other filament dryers have multiple ports where the filament can be fed out from (it angles upward, which isn't optimal for filament spools placed above a printer, but works with a long enough PTFE tube run). It would also be nice if they had integrated a PTFE tube w/ fitting, although the stock port does allow a 4mm 'bowden' PTFE tube to fit snugly, so is acceptable for a full dryer-to-extruder reverse bowden setup. Finally, the included power supply has a painfully short cable length....maybe 3-4 feet. I have to use an extension cable to allow it to be placed on top of a double stacked LACK enclosure and connected to a standard height power outlet.Pros: nice aesthetic design & great functional touch screen controls. Highly functional drying of old 'wet' filament. Full-spool heating elements. Silent operation. Easy spool loading and smooth spool rolling action.Cons: very short power cord, only one filament port, no exhaust fan. Angle of filament port may not be optimal for all setups, especially if the dryer is placed on top of a printer enclosureOverall very satisfied with my purchase, but do hope Sunlu continues to improve on their design in the future.

Works as designed
Bought this dryer as an upgrade that I have. Higher temperatures and heating elements that surround the reel is what stood out. Having a fan to help circulate the air is a big help too. So far it’s been working great.

Does what it's supposed to with two slight down sides
This is my honest review; Not sponsored and I purchased this item myself.Pros: easy to use and intuitive lighted touch screen display.Multiple temperature presets with the ability to change the set point as needed. (70c max)Run time can be set up to 48 hours and reset as needed. Auto power off function (pro or con depending on need).Internal hygrometer allows you to keep an eye on how much moisture is in your drier or how much moisture is left or inside while drying.Spool spin freely inside of the drier. (Plastic spools work better than cardboard but both can be used)Filament feed hole to print directly from drier that allows a Bowden tube to be fed from.Heating element on base and lid giving roughly 320-degree heating (rough estimate form looks).Slim design that only take up slightly more space than a standard 1k filament spool.Cons: A bit priceyThe unit can easily be tipped over backwards or to the side when changing out filament due to the top hatch having weight from the heating element. (This can be avoided with careful use)It can also be pulled or tipped over by bound filament when feeling from the drier.(These issues can be semi resolved by printing a new base and lid catch found online)If you want to print directly from the unit without the filament being exposed to the elements, you will need to purchase the proper size tubing to fit the drier and if the size differs from the type/size your printer uses, you will have to insert your tubing into their provided cut section which can cause some friction or use 3 segments 92 different sizes) to complete the tubing run.Food for thought/mixed feelings:Due to the compact size of the drier, there is no location to use desiccant or desiccant packets to absorb moisture either trapped in from ambient conditions or from being evaporated from your filament. Some users have designed and printed a lid support that keeps it propped up to allow the moisture to escape. (This could also allow moisture to get in though). At one point I printed desiccant pellet containers that fit in the middle of spools but depending on the spool type, these can wiggle free and cause binding of the spool and ruin a print. I shall be testing different designs to find one that works best.Like mentioned above, the tipping issue can be resolved by either finding or designing a base to give a larger footprint to the drier to keep it from tipping over or make it fixed in place. The size only allows standard 1k spools and possibly 2k spools depending on their width. (I currently only have 1k and 3k spools so I cannot test if 2k spools will fit). From a volume and standard point, this makes sense since most people use 1k spools and allows less air volume to keep the moisture down and give a better heating value.Overall, I am satisfied with my purchase and the drier does what it is supposed to do. I have used it off and on for roughly 3 months and at times for multiple days in a row and it still functions properly. At this price you can build something for less that can accommodate larger or multiple spools (which I've done with moderate success) but having something that does the job right out of the box is quite handy, especially if you do not want to spend the time and effort to do so and do correctly. If this review helped, please thumbs up.Eventually I will make a review for my YT channel as well as the drier mods I have done. These will be located on my YT and IG at Zeons Zone (the other non-project zeon channels are just name stealing wannabes).

dries filament well and has enough options for different types
This works great for drying different types of filament. I've used it on PLA, TPU, and Nylon with good results. I like that I can adjust the temperature and time even beyond the preconfigured settings. It is a tiny bit noisy when running but no more than other dryers that I've used. One thing I wish it did have was a way to seal better when not running so the filament in it would stay dry longer. There's no where to have desiccant packs in it to keep the filament dry either. That would be a big help for longer term use. For now, I just turn it on every time I need to print something to ensure the filament is as dry as possible. I've also used it to dry filament that I then put in desiccant filled storage bags for long-term storage.

DO NOT use it to feed your filament to your 3D printer
This will topple over and fall if you try to feed filament directly through it. It's 4 legs are not properly secured. I have tried several positions and it has fallen 5+ times already. I finally stopped trying and printed my own feeder.

Get hot up to 70C.
This is the only filament dry in the market that goes to 70C, which is what you need if you're drying PC or PA
