Great product, blends well when applied to facial beards for a fuller look.

This pen works okay, not great. Really no better than an eyebrow pencil and more expensive.

First off, I was beyond excited to use this product. Had very high hopes for it after seeing the positive reviews. However I am now convinced the people who love it have exceedingly low standards. This product simply does not work. What I mean is, it is literally an extremely fragile grease pencil that doesn’t do anything different than a grease pencil you could buy at staples. It doesn’t work to darken a beard, and the little brush that is attached to it is simply pointless. It doesn’t do anything at all to the grease from the pen and It looks laughably obvious that you have drawn all over your face with this thing. So essentially 1. It is freakishly fragile 2. Doesn’t do anything, the grease itself from the pencil is so faint and light that it does nothing but make the light patch you were trying to fix even MORE obvious. 3. The little brush is simply a gimmick, it doesn’t do a thing. If I could leave no stars I would. Just a dumb product.

I have a patchy beard and i was looking for a way to make it look fuller. I stumbled upon this beard pen and i was like duh! Why didn't I think of this. PROS - Very easy to use - The brush helps in blending to make it look more natural. - Seems to be water resistant. CONS - It doesn't seem to last very long. Within an hour or two it begins to fade especially near places on my face where there is less hair. - This seems to be a glorified eyebrow pencil but not as long lasting. I personally wouldn't buy this again. I've tried a traditional eyebrow pencil and that seems to work better and last longer. And I think a black ice barber pencil will probably work better and last longer. I used a white one with a stencil to help me trim my beard. And removing that white pencil marking took so much effort. So I figured the black pencil would be perfect for filling my beard and be more long lasting. If you're in a pinch this beard pencil is okay. But I think you're better off with traditional eye brow pencils or barber ice pencil for longer lasting effect. The Product Does its Job as Described which is to “Fill In Blank Spots”. If one expects any type of Hair Growth then they’ve selected the Wrong Product. This time around and much to my Pleasant Surprise the company also included an Extra, Free Pen with my regular order. Thank you very much.

UPDATE Review: I've reupped on 2 more of this pen and bumped up my rating. When I first bought this product my beard was still kinda new and I wasn't using it very much. I hadn't used the brush end much because I wasn't sure why it was needed. Since then I've figured out that the brush end is VERY useful for 2 reasons. 1) It helps to blend the product against the skin so that it looks very natural like nothing was added. 2) If you apply the product on the skin and then use the brush tip end to brush it up onto the hairs it helps lift the short hairs and it is VERY good at making greys disappear. Of course it doesn't last more than a day since this isn't a dye. But it does last all day until you thoroughly was your face. This is fine for me and I was somewhat surprised by how well it worked to get rid of certain grey hairs that I didn't want temporarily since I didn't buy it for this reason. It is fine to use daily for me. I add it after I've added all my other products and brushed and combed out my beard. The only knock that I have is that it does break easily. But you can put it back in the pen and just be careful to not let the broken piece fall out. So don't lift it too much out of the pen when using this product. I've seen others say it doesn't last long but I didn't have this issue. It doesn't take much to see good natural looking results, especially if you are using the brush end effectively. So you don't have to over use it. I still haven't tried other products but I'm pretty satisfied with this one and still recommend it for people trying to grow out a beard for the first time and still have a few patchy areas or a small amount of greys that you want to hide temporarily. --- Original Review: It does what it says which is to help fill in patchy areas of your beard. I don't think I would use it everyday but definitely good enough to do so. The only issue that I have with it is that it easily breaks and can fall out of the tube. Is this the best product of this type? I don't know. It's the first one that I've tried and the results are not bad.
