Excellent midsized hobby CNC
After extensive research, I chose this CNC as my midsized solution for 3 axis work. every time I use it, I am MORE than pleased with my choice. Easy to assemble, sturdy/rigid, and runs like a champ. Comes with a spindle upgrade mount which many WILL use to upgrade the spindle/router for more consistent work. I MAY replace my Makita router on it with the Sainsmart spindle/router, which comes with the ER11 collet. I HIGHLY recommend this CNC. Edit: 21JAN2025 I went back to my Makita RT0701C router within 24 hours of switching to the Genmitsu 710w router. The ER11 was nice, but the Makita far excelled in EVERY other aspect. My recommendation is to upgrade from the stock 300W spindle, to the Makita, tram it in, and go make some chips!

A strong hobby/small business machine
This machine delivers as promised. We follow Steve Makes Everything on YouTube and after doing our own research in addition to his reliable recommendations we bought it as an augment to our laser cutter which is of industrial size and 3D resin and filament printers. The machine is very stable and capable; I suspect we will upgrade the spindle, but despite my husband’s depth in all things CNC it must be mentioned that there is a considerable learning curve for any CNC router regardless of brand. This is due to the plethora of bits and how they behave with different woods of varying hardness, the speed with which you carve, and most importantly, the software that supports CNC routers. We are using Fusion at the moment because we bought it for the 3D printers, however, it leaves plenty to be desired. We are in wait of Lightburn’s release of Millmage, which is still in beta but is expected to be released sometime in Q1 2024 and I’m writing this in early January of 2024. Champing at the bit here as Lightburn is what we use for our laser. My husband very much likes it; it’s a very widely embraced platform in the laser community. We have high hopes but are muddling through in the interim with Fusion. You can spend a small fortune on bits; another thing to keep in mind before investing. Again this holds true for any router of any brand. But if you’re ready to tackle the learning curve or if you’ve already done that but are looking to upgrade to a larger carving field this is a valid choice. From what I can tell, its size, quality of build, and stability perch it on the dividing line between purely hobby level machines and industrial machines in that some aspects of this build mirror components of industrial machines yet the size and price point make it more broadly accessible. No regrets.

Dissapointing
Quality control is called for. Instead extra pieces are supplied here and there which might confuse a person if this is your first machine and you you are truly relying on the instructions to assemble it. This does not prevent missing parts; mine came without the z-probe extension/connector: an annoying thing to have to make on my own. Factory assembly is worse than shoddy (being gracious), and parts that come pre-assembled needs to be reassembled either initially or after they come apart during use. The provided 65mm mount is also very large in height making it hard to mount a router-collar - dust-shoe underneath it such that it does extend below the shaft of many bits in a way that would have the dust shoe encounter the stock during carving. One would think that a switched line with an easy connector might be provided (on with M3, off with M5) since they explicitly provide a larger mount, and support a router or even externally powered spindle. Instead one needs to deal with awkward Molex connectors to set up a relay and control power. Given that this requires an $9 relay and a few parts, and is standard (to bring a router/spindle, coolant (if needed) and vacuum online and offline with the job),not providing a power tap for this is another shortcoming. The machine works., but as provided requires far more effort and creative problem solving than one would expect for the price.

Genmitsu 6050XL on Lubuntu
Works great, super easy to setup in Linux and UGS is very stable. Windows had a driver issue so I replaced it with a version of Linux; Lunbutu OS fixed the problem. Allow dial out for the the Linux user and everything works one a super stable system.

Great CNC with a phenomenal customer services
I rarely leave reviews on Amazon, but I felt compelled to do so for this product. It is one of the best CNCs on the market for its size, capabilities, and price. It is versatile enough to accommodate different laser modules and more powerful routers, such as the Makita handheld router with a 65mm collar. I have tried it with the RATTMMOTOR 800W Water Cooled Spindle Kit, 65mm Spindle Motor, and it works great. I also want to mention that the customer service is excellent. My original shipment was missing some hardware due to damage during shipping. I didn't want to return the entire unit, so I contacted SainSmart customer support. They were very responsive and helpful in getting me the replacement parts I needed. I think this is a great combination of a beginner-friendly CNC with phenomenal customer support. It is definitely worth the money! - The CNC is easy to assemble and use, even for beginners. - It is accurate and precise, producing high-quality results. - It is versatile and can be used for a variety of projects, including laser engraving, wood carving, and PCB milling. - The customer service is excellent, with quick responses and helpful support.

What an extraordinary and unbelievable good service and guarantee they provide at SainSmart. I had a small problem with the cnc/laser combination where no expense or effort was spared to solve the problem.
