Dunlop Latex Mattress Topper - Firm - 3" - Queen

I prefer a VERY firm mattress. Four years ago, I made the expensive mistake of purchasing a Tuft & Needle mattress. It was uncomfortable within 18 months, and has recently been like sleeping in a bowl of oatmeal: saggy, mushy, no support at all. I woke every morning with pain in my knees and hips. A lot of research led me to the conclusion that my choices were a new $1000 mattress, or the possible fix of using this 3-inch Firm latex topper.HEAVY: Be warned that if you’re older, live alone, and/or have an upstairs bedroom (all three for me!), it would be best to have a second person handy to manhandle that box and get the topper out of it and onto the bed! I managed, but it wasn’t easy!NO ODOR: I noticed no odor whatsoever once the sheets were on the bed. Right out of the box, I could detect a not-unpleasant, honey-like smell.VERY FIRM: At least right out of the box, the topper is super firm--almost too hard, but after that squishy excuse for a mattress, it feels glorious. For the first time in three years, I woke without pain. I intend to turn the topper regularly, and I’m sure it will soften up somewhat as time progresses, but if it softens to even 3/4s its current firmness, it will still be better than that (bad word deleted) Tuft & Needle mattress.SLIGHTLY LARGE: The topper overhangs my Queen-size mattress by about 3/4 inch on the bottom and one side. This makes tucking in the bedclothes a bit of a challenge, but at least my Queen/King quilt no longer hangs down ridiculously low on one side of the bed. Happily, sitting down on the edge of the bed, I no longer experience that “falling off the edge of the earth” feeling!NO COVER: The answer to one 2017 question on this page says that purchases shipped by Amazon come with a cover. I purchased through Amazon, but no cover was included. Since this seems to have changed, I believe that answer should be updated.NEW SHEETS NEEDED: As I had suspected, none of my fitted sheet sets had deep enough pockets to extend over both the topper and the mattress. I purchased some that were guaranteed for mattresses up to 18” tall, and those worked. You should figure new sheets into the price of the topper.In about a year, I plan to edit this review and let potential buyers know if the topper has remained comfortable.

I'M IN LOVE!! NEVER WANT TO LEAVE MY BED AGAIN!!! BEST NIGHT SLEEP I've had in YEARS!!!! Perfect thickness, awesome comfort, amazing & quality sleep!!!I've been researching mattresses for months, interviewing people... then Covid shut down stores so I went for it!!! I'm mad I didn't try this waaaaaaay sooner!!!No weird smells & was ready to sleep on the minute I unwrapped it!

Since I just received it. I can`t give 5 stars yet. Will wait a week and see. Really is firm. Just what I need because of back issues.

I did a lot of research before making this purchase. I decided to purchase this topper after our very expensive, top of the line, mattress began causing me significant back pain after 5 years. My husband did not have the same issues I did with our mattress so I wanted to try this option before considering another mattress purchase. I purchased a twin xl 3” firm for our kind bed. It is exactly what I was hoping for. It is firm, but that’s what I was wanting because our current mattress is way too soft for me. I did not purchase the mattress topper, I placed it under our mattress pad and sheets. It did not have an odor at all. I cannot be more pleased!!!

The firm is not firm. It's very awkward to even sit on the bed with it on. Im returning it.

I’m at 5 stars right now. I’ve slept on this for 2 nights and woke up with no back pain. We have a Serra mattress which has had me in severe pain and started to sink after 3 years. I put this topper on there and I have been the happiest. I forgot how it felt to wake up back pain free. I ordered the firm. I have two bulging discs and sciatica.Update: it’s September and I still love this thing. I’m upset I didn’t find this years ago.

It's good material, except it's about 2 inch smaller than the bottom base foam and the upper memory foam. It looks rather awkward, but feels wonderful. I found it funny that even I ordered same size materials, they came at very different size.

This one had no odor whatsoever! Perfect edges, no flaws. I've bought these before and it took 2 months to get rid of the plant smell and had a crushed end, so I was happy this one came in perfect and sweet.
