PerfectPrime TL0005 Pipe Clamp Temperature Lead for K-Type Probe Thermocouple Sensor & Meter in Temperature Range from -40~200°C/393°F

Bought two of these (quite expensive) probes along with a differential thermometer so that I could balance my central heating radiators. These are advertised as having a cable length of 40 inches (101 cm). This is just not correct - mine were only 33 inches (84 cm) long. Even the overall length of the probe from tip to tip was less than 40 inches. This meant that it just wasn't possible to use them on the longest of my radiators. When trying to use it with a tall "designer" radiator, I had to leave the thermometer hanging in the air due to the short cable length of these probes. Is it so difficult for the manufacturer to fit their probes with a sensible length of cable? In addition, on one probe, the outer cable was not secured in the connector, meaning that the two inner cables would be prone to damage during use. I returned both probes for a refund.

These clamps are substantially made, and if treated correctly should last a long time. The tip of the thermocouple is welded to a curved metal plate to ensure good contact with the pipe. The lead is clamped at the end of the handle to prevent loading and breakage of the tip weld. I bought two to balance the central heating radiators. They agree with each other, and with a mercury-in-glass thermometer at room temperature, so no measurement errors to worry about. I looked at a number of different makes, and these seem to be the best-made that I could find, and the price is very good considering the quality.

Feels cheap but that’s reflected in the price . Delivery from mainland China was rapid . Accuracy?Measured very similar results to another clamp , how accurate is that ? God knows , I’m measuring hot water pipes to get an idea of what’s happening on a system and comparing it , do it does a job

Works really well. It's like having a third hand when trying to take multiple temperatures.

As I refrigeration engineer was a bit of a chance buying theses didn't think they would be accurate in any way. But fair play I was wrong, they are spot on to all my calibrated probes and cost one 10% of the price. Can't fault them, gonna be ok for small pipes but wouldn't wanna force them to much.

Product was as described and works perfectly. Delivery was delayed by nearly 2 weeks.

This was needed to obtain accurate temperature readings fom hot water pipes going into a mixer valve. Infra-red probes proved too unreliable for use in a variety of locations. This worked well and we are buying some more.
