GREAT!
Love it. Very quiet compared to almost every other vacuum cleaner I've used, except my huge expensive mains-powered Bosch ProSilence, which I'll now be selling since I like this one so much, and I anyways want to move into a tiny house on wheels where there's no space for a huge vacuum cleaner. Sucks well. It's fairly weak compared to a mains device, so don't expect it to remove all the pet hairs that are stuck really well onto a fabric, or pull dirt out from the inside of a rug, but for hard floors or removing dirt from the top of the rug, this works great. Able to pick up huge amounts of dirt very quickly, until it's full of course. Has a small compartment, but it's so easy to empty that it doesn't bother me. SO much more convenient than a huge vacuum that I have to drag behind me! This little thing is so dang easy to use! Has a trigger rather than an on-off button like most others, which I love. So easy, and helps you extend the battery life. Unfortunately no speed control, but it's not a big issue. I was surprised that this worked with my 14.4v Makita battery, but of course I cannot tell you if that's safe or recommended. In my experience it worked great, a little less suction and also a little less noise. Love this thing. Perfect for my needs. I've cleaned my whole house and of course the battery is still fine. Knowing these batteries from power tools, I'd expect you can get a LOT of cleaning done on one 3AH battery. Of course this doesn't include a battery or charger. I'd recommend spending the £38 or so for a genuine Makita battery, rather than £30ish for a third party one. My third party one failed after 3 months with my Makita stapler, big waste of money. I have friends who still have 10 year old genuine Makita batteries working great, so I'm now using genuine batteries. As for the charger, I don't know. I read that the original Makita charger can have problems, although it mostly has good reviews so it's probably a fairly decent device most of the time.

Very impressed
Very pleased with this little hoover we use it on our boat so took it with us last week when we were away, our dog is moulting very badly and this little hoover done a good job of getting the hair out of our carpets and furniture (didn't think it would do so good but surprised us) nice and light easy to store as bit much room on a boat and light enough to reach cobwebs etc try impressed also the battery lasted a week as it only takes me 10 minutes a day to hoover through the boat which is 50ft long so was good 👍 😁

A useful additional cleaner at a very reasonable price
The first thing to make clear is that this is not suitable a a replacement for your normal household vacuum cleaner. The wand is too short for serious use on floors, and it doesn't come with an appropriate assortment of tools for all household surfaces. However, this is a great little vac for localised cleaning - for the workshop for example - with strong suction, and easy emptying. My only disappointment is the lack of a brush attachment, as the head provided is really not suitable for all surfaces. In many ways, this is a typical Makita product. It's well-built and robust, and should last well. On the other hand, for reasons I don't fully understand, it's the first Makita product I've owned that has left me feeling just slightly underwhelmed - perhaps it's just a little too simple! Nonetheless, I am finding it useful, and the purchase price makes it something of a steal so long as you already have batteries and a charger.

Best vacuum
Best vacuum. Have been using it for years. Just upset it doesn’t come with the entire kit (charging, battery, dock station) as it does in Brazil.

Great for the car, dust clearance, other small jobs
Providing you have a Makita LXT battery and charger already (because you own other Makita tools), this is good value and a great addition to your collection. When you get it (and within the 30 day limit) don't forget to register it directly with the manufacturer (Makita) for the free extended warranty (3 years). This vacuum is still a tool and as such it's still eligible for the extended warranty. I find that the suction is better than I expected. If you point it at a pile of sawdust and wood chippings it sucks it up strongly leaving nothing behind. If you see some hairs, dried mud, dust etc on the floor or carpet, it will do a good job getting rid. It is ideally suited to clearing up after small jobs that have involved drilling, chiselling and so on, or car interior cleaning. You could get someone to point it at the hole you are drilling and it would suck up the dust before it even hits the floor. It is NOT suitable for clearing large debris. It is a handheld vacuum with a small bin capacity. It is what it is and you won't be picking up huge chunks of anything up with it. Due to the strong suction and small capacity, it does need emptying often. It's quite easy. Unscrew it, dump the contents and then wipe anything that's clinging to the filter. I'm used to bagless, but I am getting used to it. As for battery consumption, I have a 5Ah battery and the only thing that zaps that quickly is my SDS drill, any other Makita tool seems to last forever on this battery and this vacuum is no exception!

Much much better than i expected
For the price and being the Makita Brand you will be delighted, we are using ours to vacuum the hard floors in our house although i have bought it for my work. Its lasts for ages using a Makita 5ah battery. Like all small hand held vacuums avoid dry plaster dust if you can as it will seal up the filter in no time and it will lose suction. I have just one complaint, the on/off switch has to be constantly squeezed to make it work and after a while it makes my hand ache, im looking to bypass the switch somehow to make it a bit easier otherwise its a brilliant bit of kit for the car etc. Really impressed for the money as i already have the charger and batteries.

Aspirapolvere praticissima e validissima. Ottima la capacità di aspirazione. Anche molto leggera. Non posso che consigliarla vivamente.

Absolutely love it. We don’t have carpet but it works great on the wood floors and tile. I ordered two knockoff batteries to go with it and everything works great.

Amazingly suction power is very strong ! Made in Japan, Makita is a great product. The main unit, battery, and charger are sold separately, but the total price is cheaper than other products. The main point of cordless products is how long the battery life. Even if the battery life comes to an end in the future, only the battery needs to be replaced, so I feel it is very cost-effective.
