Pleased with my purchase
Since I received my coffee maker I use it all the time. It is smart to look at, makes good coffee and is simple to clean. Once I worked out the amount of coffee to put in as tablespoons, not grams I was away. Also like the timer which I use mainly in the daytime. Again, simple to use but effective. Cant think of anything negative to write. It does the job and is far better than my previous One-mug coffee maker. One more thing. After coffee has brewed, remove mug and replace with a bit of kitchen roll as there is always a drip or two after brewing. After 11 months my coffee maker just stopped working. Amazon customer services were brilliant. Not only did they replace free of charge, but they also arranged for Hermes to collect old machine, again free of charge.I have not changed my previous positive opinion. I still love my coffee maker and use it every day. Perhaps it was just unfortunate that my original one stopped working, however the response from Amazon has provided me with the with a replacement within 2 days. Well done Amazon.

Good and well worth the money
I brought this for the family (two children, one 2 and the other 6 and they don't drink coffee, my wife she also hates coffee). It a plug in and go thing and works well. Slight issue that I have about 300 gadgets so its another thing for the kitchen, that has not real home. You can set the clock so that it makes a hot brew for you. A bit like a modern version of that thing your nan had (except, you will actually use this). The coffee is as strong as you need it, as you are the one adding the coffee. The cup that it comes with can keep it warm for a while, so it excellent for a car journey and actually fits in a cup holders in your car. Can take a few mins to make your coffee, but I suppose that's to be expected as its not a instant coffee maker.

Favourite gadget of the year! Mornings are so much easier!!
It only gets four stars from me because the water isn't hot enough to make tea, as advertised, but this does mean it makes a very good cup of coffee once you've worked out how much to put in for your preferred flavour - I found I had to use a little more than I'd normally use in a caffetiere mug.The unit is quite flimsy. It'd be better if it had a weight to the base, especially, when kept near a bed. I find it needs two hands to push the timer button on - one to press the the button and the other to stop the unit shooting off the bedside table. Similarly, because the mug is quite a tight fit, it can be a little unsafe removing it when full from the unit without an extra hand to stabilize the unit. There is an overflow hole at the back of the unit so be careful you don't have any plug sockets behind it in case you spill water out of it when filling or touching the unit. For my taste buds I feel it slightly burns the coffee so this needs to be considered with your choice of coffee to use in the machine. Once you find the right flavour it's great!I use the mug the unit comes with. I leave the lid on with the hole open. This keeps the coffee hotter for longer. I find the coffee to hot to drink for the first 30mins which fits with my morning snooze cycle. I still find it quite warm an hour and a half later, so the cups 400ml size shouldn't put you off.The mug can be hot initially and cools over time. It has made me understand why other manufacturers have rubber on their mugs.I use a measuring jug to fill the unit with 400ml of water to save spills. I couldn't get a good enough pour from the mug. I also use filtered water to cut down on descaling. The filter is in two diswashable parts. The mesh filter and the bit the filter fits in - saving on cleaning. The filter is fairly fine and all the coffee is used - some reviews for other machines have said not all the coffee is wet after use.It is slightly noisy, which I use as an alarm. Though I am getting used to it so have to use another alarm! You can use any mug you like and the unit has the option to raise the drip tray to accommodate smaller mugs. Just make sure when you fill the unit you pour in exactly the right amount for the mug you're using. The blue led clock is bright so we've hidden the unit behind the lamp. You might want to put some tape over it? The am and pm is denoted by a small dot. When you set the brew time you press and hold a button till.it flashes, set the time then press the button once. This will light the button to show it is on auto brew. You can over ride this by pressing a different button to brew now or press the auto brew button to not brew at all. It's a basic system which works well except for the need to steady the unit with another hand to stop it moving because the buttons need a firm press.I'm very pleased with it, especially, for the price. I just wish someone would make one suitable for brewing tea for the same price.Warnings over!

Fast Coffee in 2-3 minutes
Great product,I would advise using 1 heaped teaspoon of Coffee (obviously depending on how you like it and the ground Coffee you purchase) and build the strength up as the guide was way too much coffee for my liking ,alarm / time light is bright so I put a bit sellotape over to dim it ,but overall fantastic Christmas present for my early morning in bed drink .

Good value & quality coffee maker but needs some refinements !
This is a good attempt by RH the quality is good, the vacuum cup all metal inside except the inside of lid .Best to leave the lid attached to keep max heat in the brew .You can put sugar or sweetener in before along with your measured milk -(If I use cream I put it in after the brew) NO real instructions on volume of water needed or coffee required - you need to experiment --not rocket science . 450 ml is too much for me so I put pre measured 250 ml in reservoir .....I know now , I need 2 coffee spoons of ground coffee for my strength taste !! Timer is useful ...a real clock with alarm would have been better .....easy to use any time of day just press 1 button .BEST bit is picture 5 the coffee filter, good size & very easy to fill and clean .That gets 5 stars. However, the container beneath the filter that holds the filter is terrible and does not release all the fluid , so can be messy .That gets a 1 star and needs redesigning .SO overall 3 stars for quality & value DJEJ
