GreenChem 4L Adblue top-up bottle with Spill Proof Nozzle

I hadn't topped up my AdBlue myself before as it's normally done at the main dealer. However, during lockdown I ordered this and had a go myself. I needn't have worried. The bottle and the extension piece worked perfectly and there was plenty of 'reach' to access the fill point under the bonnet of my Range Rover Evoque. Not a drop was spilt. The only reason I've marked the value for money rating down is because it's expensive compared to garage forecourt prices. However, I've kept the bottle and the adaptor so I can buy a bigger bottle next time and use this bottle to decant into.

After 5 years free servicing with my Land Rover came to an end, I had to finally do the adblue top up myself. After reading a number of reviews and YouTube videos, I chose this one. Glad I did, as unlike some people have commented, this went into the adblue nozzle and did not leak. I would point out that before I turned it upside down under the bonnet, I turned it upside down over a cloth in the garage. Worth doing, as if yours does leak you can find out before messing up the engine.

Ideal size and fairly easy to use depending on your vehicle’s Adblue connection. Comes with a very useful connector which is so much better than the flexible pipe which is usually included. Yes, you pay a premium for that but the container and connector is reusable so you can top up it up in the future from cheaper containers. It also doesn’t leak when filling your vehicle. This is a major advantage as Adblue is nasty stuff if it gets on you or your vehicle.

Based on the advice from Jaguar as long as the product is ISO 22241-1 it is fine.It comes with a standard screw cap and a separate screw on fill applicator, there is also a clear thin plastic tube which I did not use as the fill method on the XE means the bottle needs to be tipped upside down.I read the reviews below on filling and people saying it is impossible not to spill this and whilst each car is different in terms of design I think the applicator is designed to be universal.Anyhow for me it was simple, screw on the applicator, tip upside down and insert in to fill hole, apply a small amount of downward pressure. It will fill slowly on its own as you hear it glugging down but it is not fast, so I applied some gentle squeeze and release to the bottle and I filled all 4 litres in under 1 minute, spill free.

I bought this as overfilling my motorhome seemed to be a regular thing. The idea of a filler that wouldn't over fill seemed really good. In practice the filling spout when screwed onto the bottle leaked. It was thin plastic and after spilling about 1 litre I finally managed to get it on tight enough to make it a 'drip' leak rather than a 'pour' leak. If your ad-blue filler is not horizontal you have to forceably push the bottle into the ad blue filler in order to compress the spring in the filler , which releases the ad-blue. The ad-blue release is rather slow.Can I recommend this? Not really , nice idea poorly executed.

Makes refilling the AdBlue/DEF tank a lot easier and no mess. It is an expensive way to buy the fluid, but if like me you gave no forecourt option within 20 miles then this is an investment worth making. I just refill this bottle from a larger container and then put it on the filling point and let it do its thing. It took about 5 mins to transfer 15 litres into my Skoda.

Best filler I've found without a throwaway container costing the environment. Perfect as it can be refilled as well.

unfortunately, item arrived exceptionally late, do not order if you need this in within two weeks. I received a 4 litre bottle of adblue with no nozzle, then a week later an item which resembles nothing advertised to connect up securely, The idea of this is great, especially with the placement of the top up location on the Evoques, I had to purchase separate top up solution from another well known supplier which, granted with the long length nozzle went well. Items ended up unused and a waste of money. Next refill I will add this 4 litre to my working solution !
