Relatively inexpensive and seems good quality. Works well.

The best this man could get.
I've tried a lot of beard trimmers and electric shavers over the last few years. Like a few other reviewers of these products I get ingrowing hairs and find that many razors, wet dry, traditional or electric, leave me with itchy, sore-looking ingrowing hairs. What I've been looking for is a razor or trimmer that shaves me close enough to look relatively smart for work but not so close that the following day I look like my face has been used to host a convention of biting tropical insects.I've given the Wahl a month to see how I get used to it and see how well the charge lasts and so far I'm very impressed. It shaves me down to a sort of five o'clock shadow that's fine for work and any occasion less formal than a state funeral. So far, I've not had to recharge it. My last trimmer was a Remington that didn't shave the whiskers as close as this but did cut me; the Wahl's been much kinder to my skin - no nicks, soreness or irritation.I would agree with some other reviewer's comments that the head is a little narrow, making the job of shaving just a little more protracted but if that's the price you pay for the quality of cut and not having bits of your throat sliced open, I'm willing to live with it.I'd also comment that it's a noisy little piece of kit - I used it in one of those tiny space-station bathroom units that you get in hotels the other week and it sounded like a pixie chainsaw massacre. As I rarely bother with a shave when I'm hung over, that shouldn't be a problem. In short, the battery life's good, it cuts close enough that I don't need a razor and leaves my skin without irritation. The head's a bit small and it makes a bit of a racket but that doesn't bother me. I'd recommend this as a shaving solution for those plagued by ingrowing hairs.

Zippy gadget
I had grown a scruffy beard and needed it trimming or shaving off. A visit to the barber for a trim soon sorted it, so I decided that owning my own trimmer was called for. Settled on this beauty on the basis that for less than 12 quid, delivered, and with rechargeable batteries too, it was worth a risk.It works perfectly; indeed just as advertised. Beard looks and feels better and was all done in less than 10 minutes. Moustache trimmed easily and to the right shape. The trimmer was delivered complete with a stand for trimmer/accessories as well as a nifty (but very thin) PVC travel bag. I've not had any problems with the accessories, but must add that the charger is equipped with a 13A-type plug, so cannot be charged or used with the charger in a (UK) bathroom. I have also taken note of one other reviewer (Thanks, M Johnson!) about not disassembling to oil it.Overall, I am impressed that a trimmer of such quality can be built and shipped for less than £12. Full marks to Wahl.

Good machine from a good name. Recommended highly.
Bought to replace my worn out one of the same design, now it can be used while plugged in which my other, being an earlier model, could not. It is a must have for anyone with a beard or moustache and needs to keep it trimmed and tidy. Wahl have been my goto choice for many years and have always proven to be good quality, long lasting, and well designed. Highly recommend this item, and it is value for money which is always a plus these days.

You get what you pay for
The media could not be loaded. Beard Trimmer arrived in good time safely boxed. On opening and examining the trimmer it had obviously been 'used' and returned. Seller had done their best to tidy it up (no hairs on blades/comb guards) but noticeable around trimmer stand. I won't be using that bit anyway. I CLEANED AND DISINFECTED THE BLADES/BODY (You tube vids show ways of doing this)First charge trimmer overnight, 16 hrs. Then began to get it ready for use. Oiled blades. Combs are very flimsy and there is a knack to attach/detach, so you don't distort them. If you have never used Beard Trimmers before please be wary it is way to easy to 'chop off' more than you wanted or create a beard of different lengths with 'missing chunks' on display, lol. (Again there are You Tube vids that act as a guide)To sumarise: Trimmer is built to a cost. As shown by battery vs cord/rechargeable versions. For the £10 price difference go with the battery operated version, blade/combs the same.Trimmer is light can be used 1 handed, not precise enough for intricate hair detailing, can't be set as 'zero gapped'Are they sharp? Yes on short to medium beards, eg. 3 - 10 day growth.Combs flimsy, easily distort and Multi-Comb is not a design masterpiece.Motor is noisy. Charge to use time reasonable. (16hrs being first charge)Can cause irritation on sensitive skin, pay particular attention to neckline area.Basic model £11

My second one of these! Excellent value
My first one was cheap & cheerful, always shaved reliably, and it lasted over 10 years before the blades became dulled, the battery life dwindled & the power switch started to have problems, so I just bought another one! It's very nice to have the fresh blades back, so I'll make sure I oil it more regularly this time. Unfortunately the supplied little oil bottle isn't refillable, and it won't last long, so make sure you get a separate oil bottle so you don't neglect maintenance! They've changed the power switch design this time, so I hope this one doesn't fail.I'm fairly sure the plastic they've used on the guards is softer than before, so the guards don't seem to clip in place as firmly or securely...But otherwise it's the exact same Groomsman kit I bought last time. Why change a winning formula...?Probably not the best trimmer you can buy, but for an equivalent cost of £1.50 a year, it's *incredibly* good value. Just make sure you oil the blades regularly!
