Bodum Spare Glass for French Press Coffee Makers, 1.5 Litre - 12 Cup

I needed a replacement glass for a (very old) cafetière after the original got chipped and started to develop a crack. The new glass arrived well and safely packed, and is good quality and thick enough to stand up to the odd knock. It was a bit of a tight fit into the stainless steel base and handle, but that's a good thing as it won't slip out when it is being cleaned, and it is a smooth "running fit" for the plunger. It has a decent, clean pouring spout and the correct set of warning markings (which became obligatory some time ago). I would have no qualms in buying another glass from this vendor in the event that I need one. Update: January 2024. After a minor accident, I have, indeed, bought another replacement glass from this seller, in fact I bought two, so that I will have one in stock.

Prompt delivery, perfect replacement for broken article

After a thorough wash, I provided my brother's beloved cafetière/french-press a comprehensive flick roughly aimed in the kitchen sink to speed its drying process. Alas the inner glass pot clearly having spent too much time in the company of the bodum handle decided that enough was enough and that it was time to explore new horizons. Proceeding at great speed now to the corner of the kitchen sink, the resulting smash/crash left me (and everyone in the house at the time) under no illusion that the pots' new found freedom was going to be long lived. Switching into idiot-mode I was left standing, repeatedly looking between the handle still held securely in my hand and the additional contents of the sink... as if this might somehow undo my stupidity. Luckily I was there for a few days and the replacement glass arrived in enough time to get my brother's coffee pot back in working order. Whilst I felt that the replacement was over priced, it appeared to have all the same silk-screen printing on it as the many ... many remaining parts of the original glass and I was happy to leave things as I found them.

My 12 cup Bodum cafetière is about 30 years old and has given great service. Sadly, I broke the glass beaker a few days ago. I found a replacement beaker on Amazon for <£14, which was a much better option than paying £65 for a brand new cafetière identical to my original. The replacement beaker was delivered the next day, is genuine Bodum, and fitted perfectly. I am very happy with the product and the excellent service.

The second image for the product gives dimensions. The picture with dimensions is correct - the beaker is 7.25" high, with a diameter of about 4.3", although I'd say it is closer to 4.5" (NB the diameter is measured across the width of the pot below the slight flare at the top of the pot and the spout, if you measure across the top the slight flare increases the diameter to 4.75", and the internal diameter of the metal frame the beaker is cradled in actually measures as 4.5" on our one). The repeated written dimensions next to the image are incorrectly stated - it says 4.3" tall and 7.25" circumference - these should be swapped round and corrected to state 7.25" tall and 4.3" DIAMETER. Anyway, as long as your broken glass beaker was a Bodum one and around 4.5" diameter, and a little over 7" tall, the new pot will fit perfectly.

Brilliant. Having had the 12 cup cafetiere for lots of years it broke in the washing up. We kept the silver sleeve the glass fits into in the hope of getting a replacement. Checked on amazon and here it is. The dimesions are 18cm height, 12cm diameter but I have seen it described elsewhere with another dimension that includes the spout which threw me. I see you can also buy replacement filters as well but ours is still going strong Recommended

Correct size for the big cafetiere and arrived rapidly, well packed.

The old glass broke after heavy use over a period of years. This replacement arrived quickly and fits quite comfortably into the frame. However, you do need to get the correct measurements for it before you send off since they are wrongly stated here. They are actually D 11.7 cm, H 18.5 cm. Anyway, here's hoping for another few years use.
