I have had this 4 weeks now and I can say The iBobber is a great little fish finder that you can take anywhere as it fits in your pocket. It is small in size but don't let that fool you as it holds about 8hrs worth of charge and it will probably outlast your mobile if you have not got a power pack! The iBobber turns itself on and off when it is in the water so saving power which is a nice feature. I do lots of different types of fishing 'bit of an allrounder' - carp, tench, pike, zander, trout, cod and pollock and the iBobber is suited to them all - so long as you have at least 5feet of water to let the sonar work properly you will definitely put more fish on the bank! The depth scale is handy as it shows the depth at which the fish are most comfortable; so you can get a bait or lure down to them. For coarse fishing I use the terrain feature which allows you to map your swim - this is useful for coarse fishing for tench and carp as it shows troughs, bars and likely features a fish is likely to feed from unto 30m from your mobile. The app is easy to instal and has several other features - I like the fish alarm but I feel that could be more useful if I actually used the iBobber as a float -which I don't want to do at the moment as I don't want to lose it! The app also shows the water temperature which has influenced where I fish on the lake - especially for trout on big reservoirs as the cooler the water in the summer the more dissolved oxygen- which they like! The fish finder doesn't just show fish it also shows weed - this can be handy when placing bottom baits for carp as you can find areas where they have been feeding and have reduced the weed down to size. On a recent zander fishing trip to a large reservoir I was able to connect a cord to one of the two anchor points on the iBobber and tow it behind the boat - After motoring around for some time I found fish hanging around the south side off a pumping tower - the fish were tightly grouped around a shoal of smaller bait fish and I could clearly see the depth at which they were feeding 22ft in 25ft of water - so I knew to place my bait within a couple of feet either side of that, which resulted in 3 nice zander - had a great day pleasure fishing and managed to find some other hotspots - so job done!

Doesn't Work With I-Phone
Bought to use with my I-phone 7 Plus, but didn't work. Gave to my brother and works perfectly on his Android. It does all that is is designed to do. waiting for the I-Phone update :)

Not worth the money.
After looking at this and the deeper pro plus. I opted for the as it was half the price. But its not worth even half the money. It states 100ft of range, its no where near. I took it to a lake 50ft in width. Even at 30ft out the connection wasn't brilliant. When I finally got a connection it was pointless. The lake is only 4m deep and fairly flat. Yet this kept jumping between 3m and 4m. Although there was a little bit of wind, this shouldn't have cause it to move a meter at a time. This also confused the display on the app. Although I had weighed the IBobber down to keep it in one place, it kept showing different things, one minute there was just the bottom, then weeds, then fish, then nothing again. I bought this to use in winter as normally the fish are hiding. But seeing as you can't go any further than 30ft away and it isn't very good at telling between the bottom, weeds and fish then it's a waste of money.

Fantastic Fish Finder!
The iBobber was recommended to me by a friend who is fishing mad - he said the accuracy of the information would impress me and be a thoroughly enjoyable way to find the fish quicker. How could I resist! The price certainly seemed reasonable, so when it arrived a couple of days after ordering I was glad that such a high quality feeling product came out of the box. You get: iBobber fish-finder, charging dock with built in USB cable (with stable rubber legs), a carry case and instruction booklet. I’ve attached a pic as I put it on its first charge. The iBobber clicks securely into the charging dock and a blue light glows around the unit to show it’s charging. The bluetooth on my iPhone 6S connected straight away with the iBobber (after downloading the free app on the App Store) and I could see useful weather info (including pressure) and the moon cycle overlaid onto the calendar. Straight away I did think this would be useful for booking night fishing sessions - never easy to book in advance for the best dark nights. The first day out: I chose to take it with me for a days reservoir trout fishing and it certainly spiced things up! I had it in the over the side of the boat to see what depth the fish were passing at (and indeed if there were any at all . . . a few boat moves inspired by no action above the water combined with no action seen on the iPhone!). This does add some excitement when you anchor up and suddenly see fish moving under you at different depths, but the iBobber really came into its own when I tried to cast it out. I took an ‘Ugly Stick’ to do this, although you could cast it out with a variety of rod types and sizes. Firstly I cast out into an area I knew had been productive in the past. The Waterbed mapping function (you reel it back in after casting out) showed exactly how far I was from the drop off was, and beautifully mapped the bottom levels. On the second cast out (different angle) I found a large feature on the edge of the drop-off, probably a large rock or old tree root. I then cast it out again to see the fish life and the most action was deeper than I thought. A quick line change to a Di3 and lots of catching action all near the big lump on the bottom! So I did know that spot was often lucrative in the past, but do I feel smarter knowing what I do now? Did I enjoy flustering to get my flies in the water as quickly as possible when I saw the fish passing on my iPhone? Yes to both! I would definitely recommend this to other anglers, a quality product that certainly added to my success and produced several extra smiles and chuckles on the day. Now a permanent addition to my fishing bag!

Range is very limited.
App is nice. IBobber itself is, in my opinion, useless as a castable device. The range is so short with my Samsung Z Fold as to be useless for bank fishing. Unfortunately, this is because the Bluetooth range is so limited. Might work if dropped over side of a boat, where is can be kept a short distance from the device running the app. I looked at the Deeper Start, but went with this as it was £40 cheaper. In the end I ordered the Deeper Start (which uses wifi) anyway. Item returned for refund.

This is a easy to use little fish finder. I don't cast it, but hang it off the side of my kayak. It works pretty good for the size and price. Perfect for this application, but can't move quickly with it tied to side of kayak as it pulls out of water and will lose connection with phone. But for going along slow, works pretty slick.
