Inexpensive but vital haberdashery item for me
I love to have a variety of stitch rippers and these are perfect for smaller projects. They're an important part of my haberdashery stock and not too expensive... if asked about gifts, they're great to put on a 'would like list'! Well constructed, this one can have string attached (not supplied) to hang around your neck! The lid fits nicely onto both ends, which is a bonus, as not all stitch ripper lids do. I attach a pic of two of my stitch rippers, both from Amazon, so you can see the difference. The lid on the Clover ripper doesn't fit on both ends and I use it for bigger projects. Why have different sizes? I've been a sewist for more 40 years+ and I think a small stitch ripper is perfect for delicate fabrics and small stitches. A bigger one for stronger fabrics and bigger stitches. If you use one that is too small on a stronger stitch, it could possibly break the ripper and if a large ripper is used for delicate work, it could harm the fabric...I've had experience of both, long ago. They are some of most vital 'tools of my trade'! Both work well and are super sharp, perfect!

Love it, really good quality little tool
I really like this little tool, I don't sew I make cards and paper keepsakes but decided to buy one of these as I saw a tip online about using them to remove die cuts from dies and using it to peel the back from double sided tape and foam pads. I chose this one as it was a reasonable price but looked like it was good quality. I wasn't disappointed it, it is comfortable to hold and the lid clips onto the back to make it just the right size to fit into my hand, not too short so it can be held like a pencil rather than between the forefinger and thumb. I like that the lid is secure as my cat likes to chew things that are on my desk so I try never to leave anything sharp exsposed. Really pleased with it, it feels like it will last a long time but if I have to replace it at any point I will be buying another one of these. Would definitely recommend, I haven;t tested it on thread since I don't sew but the edge inside the two protruding bits at the top is sharp and I sliced some 3mm ribbon with it earlier and it cut nice and cleanly. I love it :)

Sharp, practical and does the job!
This tore through seems perfectly and is a great staple in my sewing kit! I did find using it for a length of time made my hand cramp, so perhaps I could have utilised a slightly thicker handle with a molded grip. I like how easy it was to use, and I use it a lot, and I’ve yet to find an item it struggles with. The cap is slightly fiddly, but that’s to be expected with small pieces. It does fit on perfectly each time for me! It also looks very sleek and I predict this will be with me for a long time, as it seems to be built for durability and resistance! Overall, great tool and would 100% recommend.

Nice little tool
Nice compact stitch ripper that does the job well. It's a little bigger than the one that came with my sewing machine, I think I ordered this small version in error as I was after a larger one, however, quite happy to have it in my stash of tools. I may still order the larger one.... you can never have too many stitch rippers to hand.....

seam ripper or unpicker
There's a lot of cheaper ones on the market but I'm reviewing a few different types to see how I get along with them. Has to be said this is pretty good. lovely to hold and nice and sharp. I find with the cheaper ones on the market today, it's a gamble whether you get a sharp one or not.

Nice to hold
Sturdier and better to hold than the cheaper ones. Love that there is a cap for it. The cutting part at the base by the holding handle seems blunt which is disappointing. The cheaper ones I've had are much sharper. When removing baste stitches a sharp cutting edge is far better than a blunt one!
