Are there two parts to the device? One part to clip inside the meter cupboard on the outside of the house and keep the monitor to view inside?

Hi, There are 2 parts to the device. The sender just clips on the main supply cable and then the main device which can be used anywhere in the house within range of the sender on the main cable. It all works great. Set up could not be easier. Hope this helps.

can this device monitor solar panel output to grid

I cannot speak for this model, but I have had similar monitors and they only show the absolute net value of power (i.e. there is no negative for a net flow out). So when you see a reading of, say, 0.5Kw, that may be a net 0.5Kw being drawn from the grid or a net 0.5Kw being fed in. Usually it's easy enough to work out which way the flow is going.

Our meter box is just outside the house, does it make a difference. Do you just open the meter box, and clip the device onto the wires, and thats it ?

Yes ours is outside too.Only problem we had was realising you had to press button on outside sensor and wait while it located inside sensor.Instructions don't tell you much but it doesn't take much thought to work it out.Stopped working once but just needed to reset the locator and everything was fine again

Does the unit work with the warmwise tariff? I have 4 different rates.

It can be a little complicated to use and I'm not sure it is capable of working with 4 different rates of cost. It is better at just giving the KWs used.
