Loading the blade was easy into the red holder by aligning the blade to ...
Bought this razor as have tried DE shaving and found I got a much closer & less irritated shave than using a multi blade shaver.Razor comes in a plastic folding wallet which holds the razor body, 2 of the black larger blade holders, 1 of the standard (DE) sized blade holders & a few different blades to get you started.Loading the blade was easy into the red holder by aligning the blade to 2 red stoppers on one side and then folding over the other side & then sliding into the razor body, it will only go one way in as well due to its design. Worth noting that the blade does not clip into the red holder it simply sits in against the stoppers so you just need to check its in parallel when you close the other half of the holder, or before you slide it into the razor.Big plus is once fitted the bladed edge only protrudes a tiny amount & the red holder is easy to see so very safe as little chance of deep cuts which perhaps helps reduce the fear factor when first using. For what it's worth I use a DE type blade snapped in half (just leave in the waxed paper & bend the sharped edges together as if folding a piece of paper). Plus I tend to fit the blade before going to bed so I don't have to deal with the fumbling around half awake in the morning. In use I found the razor to be very stable in the hands due to the rubber section on the tang where the finger(s) hold it & weighted just about right. The scales pivot quite a way around so best to try a few different types to find the one that works best for you.The blade should be held at about 30 degrees from the skin in use which felt about right for me. As for technique well some advocate long steady strokes and others shorter strokes. Personally for me it was a mix of both depending on what part of my face. Have a look on YouTube as there are plenty of tutorial videos on straight razor shaving. In terms of time I found it quicker than my DE razor for some reason but slower (only a few minutes) than a cartridge type razor & a worthwhile additional purchas of an alum block sorts out any tiny nicks and helps close up the pores really quickly.Safe to say coming from electric to wilkinson & Gillette systems to a DE razor I thought I'd found the closest shave, hover with this new shavette style I don't think I've ever had such a close shave. As for blade recommendations I'd say go find an intro pack with several types to find the ones that suit your hair/skin, style of shaving.

Seems to be good for the most part.
Seems to be good for the most part. Is the exact same as the previous one I have. There does seem to be a slight drop in quality however in comparison the the one I already have.Arrived quickly and is still what I was looking for.

This is the shavette you're looking for.
Amazing service. I am stunned at the great level of care taken by Style & Skin.A few months ago I had accidentally broken my Dovo Shavette (blue) being a bit rough taking a blade out. On Monday I ordered the stainless steel shavette and it arrived this morning (Thursday). It was packaged in an Amazon stiff cardboard envelope. Within that it was sealed in a plastic envelope. Within that it was wrapped in bubble wrap. Within that it was delicately wrapped in black tissue paper with "S & S" moustache sticker. Finally inside the tissue paper was the shavette 201006 in its own plastic sheath. The shavette came with all 3 blade holders (red 201003 in the shavette, and straight long black 201004 and combed long black (also 201004) spare). It came with a Merkur DE blade, a Merkur long DE blade, plus two single edge Derby blades (short). This is an impressive level of care and service. The shavette itself has a very good feel to it, a nice weight (not too light, not too heavy), and very good workmanship. Compared to my previous blue shavette, the stainless steel one feels and looks better in my opinion.I'm a very happy customer indeed!

Good but flawed
Well balanced but the blade holders are useless... Super flimsy and barely hold the blades in place during a shave. Frustrating to say the least when your blade ends up sliding back inside the plastic holder. Do yourself a favour and choose something else.

Wonderful product but be aware of one information.
Amazing straight shavette. But beware that there are 2 products of Dovo that look alike. The two products have manufacturer's model numbers '201006' and '201087'. Both models look similar in photo-pictures but in the official Dovo website it is noted that they have the following differences. The blade holding piece/arm of the model number '201006' is of 'polished stainless steel' material whereas that of the model number '201087' is of 'aluminium silver' material. However the actual handle (finger holding arm/piece) of both the items is of 'mat finished stainless steel' material. the 201006 model is higher priced than 201087 as it is fully made of steel. Some sellers sell the model 201087 with a photo of 201006. For instance, in this webpage itself some sellers sell the 201006 and others sell 201087. Amazon should look into it and prevent such confusion. I purchased 201006 and it's amazing in its style, and function.

Best shavette around
I've got a couple of shavettes and this is by far the best I've used. This is the fully stainless 201006 model, by the way (regardless of what the answer in the questions section says) and if you're looking to expand your range of shaving options then I think this would be a good choice. The blade holders are very well designed and hold the blade more firmly than in other shavettes and the razor as a whole feels comfortable in the hand. From the first day I've had very close shaves from this with little or no irritation having struggled to get on with other (cheaper) shavettes. I don't think it will ever fully replace my trusty DE but if you're interested in a shavette then I'd definitely recommend this.

Good but not great
Not the best out there. Read reviews and thought this would be amazing. A little disappointed, the blade holders look and feel cheap and flimsy. I have the stainless steel handle version, handle is heaver therefore doesn't feel correctly balanced while using.Feels good against the skin therefore the step of the blade holder must be correct although just doesn't feel like I got my money's worth here.
