Are the stars in fact crisp and clear or blurred?

The stars are blurred, i was disappointed with this product for the price I think it is very limited and doesn't focus well.

can you set it so the image rotates/moves?

Yes. My 8 year old has this. He says you can set to either North or South & image will gently rotate. If you don't use either setting image remains still. He loves it & goes to sleep with it every night!

does this leak light from the unit? i.e if it is positioned on a bedside table would it show light other than from the reflection on the ceiling?

Not really. Obviously there is a light but really it shows only on the ceiling. My 9 year old son loves it and has it on every night when he goes to bed. I bought extra slides to go into planetarium which was money well spent. Hope that helps

is the projection of northern europe sky or can it be adjusted to such?

The projection is of the northern hemisphere. This includes: America, Europe and Asia. The part which is visible depends on: time, date and where on the northern hemisphere you are located. It is as with the sun: no matter where you are, as long as you are about the same latitude (north), it always looks the same when it is noon (or 8 am, etc.).
