Shine Magnetic Chess Board Set large 32cm travel chess

The magnetic panel surface which im guessing is about 0.2mm thick?? on the top could have been aligned on the board better so when each half came together and joins in the middle the squares ligned up better, we are talking about a couple mm's, im frugal and meticulous with this type of thing becaues i came from a machine shop working with low tolerances, but it's not a big deal, you ignore it, you play the game and then it dissapears from your mind.It really needed a bag inside for the pieces, so you can open it take the bag out, all the peices are together and can be put to the side while you flip the board over. It also would have been nice to have a material sleeve for the unit to go into. I really think they should make the black pieces brown to immitate wood, this would have given it more of an authentic feel, because i am actually considering buying actual wooden magnetic pieces to get back that authentic feel. I didnt want to buy a wood board because the cheap ones look cheap and the higher quality ones are more expensive and then you have to be careful about scratching and damaging them, with plastic it doesn't matter, it's cheap, it's weather proof and i dont have to worry about heat and water causing swelling or wood cracking,you can't beat the price and the speedines of delivery, within two days I had this and now everybody wants to play. I bought the largest or 2nd largest, don't recommend going any smaller, chess should be played on a board at least 30 by 30 to be enjoyed. just my opinion. I paid 15 pounds, where else can you get a deal like that?

Reasonable quality for the price. Have acceptable defects like the bottom felt not pasted properly. But I am ok with it as it is bought as a fun travel set for beginners. Magnets works as expected.

loved this set of chess to help me learn how to play chess not very expensive so if i didn't like it then it wont be a waste of money as its cheap. its a large size and very easy to play with

Utter rubbish - bought for friends and am embarassed by the total lack of quality... edges broke off the board, magnets fell of the pieces...Shocked that amazon would retail such a product

Pros:Store pieces inside the board.Nice size, lightweight, durable.Cons:Most magnets fell off straight away, otherwise has some grip - not too strong, so wouldn't rely on it.Good if you want this size but for travel I'd rather get something smaller.

The bits don't fall off and it is a good sized table for the price. It would be nice if you could lock the fold but then again it was cheap and the magnet's are subtle and strong. Probably the best value for money set out there,many are smaller and more expensive. Useless for travel but fine for the home, and good to play along to famous matches, if the commentators don't keep putting in their own moves and don't give the match straight.

I have no problems with this product, small enough for travel, but big enough not to be fiddly. Ideal for following through master games from a book and using on one side to play out the alternative moves of variations without having to reset the main board being used. I use it for the latter purpose on a small wooden board, the magnets make the pieces a tad heavier and the piece size is good visually. The one thing I need in a chess set is well made knights, as opposed to duff crude carvings, and of course, with moulded sets you do get that visual extra.

It's a nice product but the magnetic strip on the pieces is loose, and for goodness sake I got a chess set with 1 white knight and 3 white rooks ... annoying to have to exchange now.
