I grew up loyal (to a fault) to Levi's and I still enjoy much of their clothing. But when I had to start spending my own money on jeans (instead of my parents'), I could no longer justify spending so much ca$h on jeans. My initial interaction with Wrangler was over 2 decades ago with their 5 star denim jeans, which I did not care for because of the tapered leg (even while wearing with sneakers). I transitioned to Old Navy whose boot-cut jeans were perfect for me until a few years ago, when the cut changed to accommodate trendier fashions which I guess I'm just too old for. Last Christmas, after a 25 year hiatus, I bought myself a pair of Levi's and the cut and material were so bad that I actually felt embarrassed for the company. So, I decided to buy this pair of Wrangler's (plus a pair of Cowboy-cut slim fit plus a pair of Retro slim fit). Here are a few notes: 1. These fit better than the slim fit. The slim fit work for me because I am slim; but after wearing and washing both a few times, I like these much better simply due to comfort. Still, after a few washes, the waist on these shrunk. I do not dry them in the dryer after a wash any longer. 2. Cowboy-cut does not = boot-cut. I prefer a boot-cut and these are not boot-cut; however, they stretch over the boot perfectly without looking silly or bunching up. These look better over my boots than any boot-cut jeans I've ever worn. 3. They are rigid! These jeans are not like the worn/relaxed jeans that many of us are used to, even after being washed and dried. Eventually they become worn, which means they last even that much longer than ready worn jeans (20% according to Wrangler). I recommend these (over the slim fit) to any man who simply wants a pair of man jeans that fit well. If you are sick and tired of all the irregularities that accompany today's men's fashions, these might be for you.

Wrangler pro rodeo have always been my favorite jeans as they are better quality than Levi's and much more affordable. Levi's need to come off of their high horse as I don't buy anything just for namesake but supposedly enough there are alot of suckers out there and Levi's are raking in the gold off of it.
