Philips Automotive Lighting 12831WLEDX1 DRL9 LED Daytime Running Lights

excellent set of daylight driving lights! This is a very easy kit to fit, it took me about 30 mins . The instructions are very clear. All I would add is to plan the install don't do it as you go. Take 5 or 10 mins and look at the best place to mount lights and the best route to run your cables. The instruction have diagrams of where lights should be fixed and the cables have plugs which plug into the control unit all it leaves you to connect is the power leads to the battery. These lights are very bright and a great safety feature! I have had these lights for a few months now and still loving them. No Problems!

Worth paying for a kit rather than individual components. Generally easy to install - took about 1.5 hours (10 minutes for the wiring and brackets and the rest faffing around trying to find the correct wire to connect the orange lead to). The instructions are poor though as it is mainly diagrams and little explanation. For example, the blue lead needs to go to an earth but why have it seperate from the lead that goes to the negative battery terminal? Once installed they work well and so far have had no problems with them.

I decided to spend a bit more to get a quality set which would work reliably and I'm not disappointed. All the connector plugs are waterproof and the instructions were easy to follow. They're fitted to a 2004 Renault campervan.

Excellent quality product but not cheap. Simple to fit with adequate wiring length, everything required to fit the lights is included. Comprehensive instructions. Led lights are very bright and white with no hint of blue. No need to wire to ignition on my car, connected direct to the battery via the supplied fuse. Lights turn completely off when main lights are on. Overall very satisfied with a quality product. Recommended.

Bloomin bright and ridiculously easy to fit. I've just fitted these to my 2012 Renault Clio - install took under an hour ( including removing the front bumper of my vehicle and replacing the front back on ) Simple instructions and well built - they are bright too! If you want your vehicle to pass it's MOT be sure to run the cables neatly around the engine bay using the zip ties provided

This product is so good this is my second purchase. They are very well made with a metal case and 9 led lamps. They come with a seperate control box heat resistant wiring and plenty long enough to locate wherever you like. The wiring was easy to follow with me being an Electrician and should be for most DIY people. They work on a voltage principle with the voltage changing during the start/stop phases. They sense the voltage drop during start up and stop. They are also connected to the low beam lights and when switched on they switch off making them road legal. Do not be tempted to connect them direct to the battery and always use the control box. As direct connection will cause them to fail and blow the led driver.

The good news...the product is very easy to install, the instructions are clear and when it works the lights are very bright. What I didn't rate was the need to wire one of the wires to the -ve using a 'lucar' type connector...an abomination but a minor matter !! However this product is wholly unreliable. In short I happened to be driving in front of the nissan navara upon which I had installed the lamps and noticed that they sometimes cut out altogether, flashed on and off or worked normally. I assumed it was the ghastly lucar connector which was only working part time. I had damaged one of the lights (my fault) so I ordered another set only to find it worked equally intermittently. I swopped the wiring harness, 'the brain/black box' all to no avail. In the end I put a meter on the input to the box and this showed no problem with the wiring loom supplied (I had removed the lucar connector and wired the wire permanently to the -ve) but the output worked only intermittently. It was the same with both 'black boxes'. In short there is a serious issue if both boxes exhibit exactly the same fault. As I live in France it is not economic to return the item(s) but I would strongly advise anyone not to buy this product despite the manufacturer being highly reputable.

These lights are off white and not pure white like DRLs so please note this and does not have brightness as expected from a DRL. Dont buy if you are looking for pure white DRL with more brightness as expected from DRLs

Quedan muy bien integradas en cualquier modelo de vehículo, y su módulo de control funciona realmente bien. He tenido otros leds en los que el módulo de control falla a menudo y o bien se enciende solo una, o bien fallan al apagarse tras encender las luces de posición. Siendo Philips es una garantía, y cuando las montas te das cuenta de que funcionan realmente bien. El único pero, es que me hubiese gustado con una tonalidad más fría. Unos 6000 ºK hubieran sido geniales.

Installé sur mon crv au niveau de la calandre, le rendu est parfait, ça ne fait pas kéké on pourrait croire a de l origine, il éclaire super bien....par contre j ai eu des soucis, il s allumait par intermittence, j ai du retirer un peu le fusible, si je l enfonce entièrement ça deconne!!! L installation est hyper simple, le plus dur est de trouver un emplacement pr le boitier..du moins sur mon véhicule...

Came as a complete kit with easy to follow instructions, fitted next day to replace a budget set that displayed on again off again, after only a year or so. Good purchase.
