So glad I came across this in daily deals as I ...
Used to dry body brush a lot in my teens and twenties but since my children I'd forgotten all about it. So glad I came across this in daily deals as I got this super brush for very little money and it's just fabulous; not too heavy to hold, fits hand nicely in the wide strap, bristles are perfectly placed and spaced to give a thorough brush but not be too abrasive. The bristles are pretty firm so please don't be tempted to scrub or push down while brushing, or you may scratch yourself. Go gentle, long sweeping strokes toward the heart. My skin is VERY dry (but no eczma) and dry brushing has improved the condition of my skin, reducing the 'lizard skin' look particularly on my lower legs and upper arms. DO NOT BRUSH YOUR FACE! I brush first thing in the morning as it helps wake me up and give me a burst of energy ready to get the kids ready for school. I even don't feel the desperate need for tea the moment I get downstairs anymore - weird...

61 year old and it works!!
This arrived today and I was a little nervous as I had read that the bristles were rather 'harsh'. Do not worry. I am 61 years old and have 'lizard' skin. There was a snow storm in the room. All the dry skin........never knew, Buy this, the bristles aren't like cactus, they are firm but a good firm, Also going to focus on lymphatic glands to see if this may also affect weight [you never know,,,,] Love this, For those of you of my age and are looking at skin going wrinkly or 'lizard' as another reviewer put it. BUY IT. I am going to try this for 3 weeks and will let you know the difference that will be the 14th March. The first time you do this - make sure you have the hoover handy :) You will need it for the snow storm!!! 11th March: 'Lizard' looking skin disappeared... woo hoo! now the cellulite - probably won't work but you never know

Perfect Brush - Benefits, Tips, and How to Use and Clean
Hydrea Professional Dry Skin Body Brush is excellent and before you buy this one let me clarify a few things for you. There are two main parts in the review, 1. Reviewing the brush you bought or intend to buy. 2. Benefits, uses, and tips about dry brushing and how to clean the dry brush. Important - before you proceed, if you have sensitive skin this brush is not for you as it has extra firm bristles, instead use Hydrea Professional FSC* Beechwood Body Brush with Natural Bristles (Medium Strength) The Bristles The Hydrea Professional Dry Skin Body Brush bristles are natural cactus bristles. Since it's natural it's non allergenic and far better than plastic bristles for many reasons. Natural bristles help to distribute natural oils in your skin and have no irritation or allergic to the skin. Natural bristles are more durable and wouldn't produce any static. Nylon and synthetic brushes can be damaging to the skin as it could be too sharp. This particular brush uses cactus bristles... Cactus Bristles Cactus bristles are the firmest natural bristles, it's not at all soft, longer usage might make it softer but these bristles are strong and tough than any other brush. The one you are getting has extra firm bristles. I haven't used any other cactus bristled brushes, and the Hydrea ones are so strong so do not use it in the sensitive areas, breasts or face. Dry body brush should not be used on the face and breasts and avoid any sensitive areas, and places including cuts, abrasions and sunburn. Easy to use The Hyrdrea brush is easy to use and it lets you cup the brush in your hands, so it will be as similar as your hand has grown bristles . To get the full benefit Two important things you have to do to get the full rich benefits of dry brushing. 1. Regular use, for example to see a reduction in cellulose you need to use it atleast for a couple of months, and 2.Make sure you are having a nutrient rich, unprocessed whole foods, enzyme rich organic diet. How to Dry Brush The common method is begin at the soles of your feet, continuing to work up the front and back of the legs following an upward direction towards the heart. Using long, gentle sweeping strokes upwards apply a gentle pressure to the body which should feel invigorating not sore. Continue on to the hands and arms including the tummy and back finishing with the neck and scalp. The perfect method suggested by Alla Svirinskaya in her book the Energy Secrets: The Ultimate Well-Being Plan says: 1. First brush the sole of one foot then work up the front and back of the same leg and over the buttocks. 2. Repeat on the other leg. 3. Work on the hands and arms, starting the fingertips. brush the palm and back of the hands, then move up towards the armpits. 4. Brush across the shoulders and as much of the back as you can. 5. Brush the chest, working down towards your heart. (Women should not brush their breasts or nipples) 6. Brush down your neck. 7. Then brush the stomach, in a circular motion. Always brush in a clockwise direction, as this helps to stimulate the colon. 8. Brush until the skin feels warm but do not over do it. Around five minutes of burshing is idal but if you're short on time, lesser time will be fine. 9. After finish brushing, take a warm hydrotherapy/steam bath/sauna or usual shower or bath. Rebecca Baily in her website says the following as her preferred method of dry brushing 1. Brush toward the heart, to help your body fluids move in the right direction. 2. Use a brush that's stimulating but doesn't leave you red and inflamed. elbow to shoulder hand to elbow hand to shoulder same on other arm along collar bones down toward breasts from shoulder, around bottom of breast and up to mid-chest, circling a few times same on other side belly, starting at belly button and make ever widening circles in the same direction your intestines coil (right to left) upper thigh/hip up over butt toward waist, both sides continuing with upward strokes, from waist as far up back as I can reach (switch to handled brush) up back to shoulders and neck (switch back to hand-loop brush) knee to hip foot to knee foot to hip same on other side Dry brushing benefits Dry brushing stimulates skin and rejuvenates it, it's practically skin renewal. It clears the toxins in the skin along with the dead skin cells. Great for circulation: the skin receives about one third of the blood that circulates through the body and dry brushing improves circulation and by activating the circulation it also prevent varicose veins. Distribution of oil and fat deposits, in other words it reduce the hard fat deposits below the skin while distributing the fat deposits evenly. Dry brushing cleanses the skin and the lymphatic system, strengthens the immune system, Stimulates the hormone glands and nervous system, Prevents premature aging. Some little known facts about dry brushing includes a better digestion or improved metabolism and reduction of cellulite, which is greatly beneficial for the skin, as it reduce the cellulites by removing the toxins that may break down connective tissues. Stress relief is another little known fact of dry brushing, as it reduce muscle tension, better circulation, and the whole body massage is therapeutic and has meditative qualities. Also dry skin brushing helps to tone the muscles, yes, it activate individual muscle fibres, resulting in toner muscles. Here is another surprise, dry skin brushing is beneficial to your kidneys, more than that when your system is clogged, the resulting foul body odour is not the only problem but think of all that extra work that the bladder, the kidneys and the liver has to suffer. Dry skin brushing is the saviour, eliminating all that issues. Tips and caution Always brush towards your heart. Do not brush breasts, under arms, or any sensitive areas including the face. Do not brush over broken skin, rashes, or sunburn. Let me repeat- dry body brush should not be used on the face, breasts and avoid any sensitive areas, and places including cuts, abrasions and sunburn. Do not wet the brush (except in cleaning) or use it in the shower How to clean dry brush The best way to clean it is a light application of Tea Tree Spray after each use and then washes the bristles under the warm tap water with an optional little baby shampoo and let it air dry, and brush will last a lifetime. Alla Svirinskaya recommends that always wash skin brush in warm soapy water after use. Make sure you'll air dry it in the well-ventilated area. After the Bath Once you finish dry brushing you'll take a shower or bath, what you do after the shower. The best thing, is use a little olive oil or coconut oil after the shower, you can also use almond oil, these are the best options because they are good for the body and completely natural, which will be absorbed by the body, don't worry you won't look oily, don't use the oil too much though. Some prefer to use organic body oil, or other body lotions. If you experience any irritations in the skin, I suggest use natural or organic oils (olive, coconut or almond). Pros: Natural cactus bristles Extra firm bristles Easy to use Quality build

All in all, this is a fantastic dry brushing body brush that I think will last for years.
I absolutely love this body brush. Please note it is for dry brushing - recommended for use before you have a shower or bath. Start at your feet and brush upwards towards your heart. It's really that simple and easy to do every day. The bristles are firm and therefore might not be to your liking. But light brushing everyday will certainly leave you invigorated. Unless you have help it is difficult to use this on your back, but there is a Hydrea brush with a handle that I also have and use for my back. You should not use this on your face either - it is far too hard. There is also a softer face brush that will do the trick. The build quality is fantastic and it really looks the part. The strap is also useful to ensure a good grip. All in all, this is a fantastic dry brushing body brush that I think will last for years.

Too hard Bristles
Really hard bristles! Tried to get a refund but Amazon said it’s not an option! Great as a in shower exfoliator but not soft enough bristles as described for a lymphatic drainage brush.

I've been seeking this brush for . . . . . 30yrs. Lol. There is ONE boars bristle brush that sufficed all this time, but just one. They are never stiff enough to get a good skin scrub on. I WANT a good stiff brush to gitterdone. This is just gloriously stiff and the bristles are TIGHT. I can bear down or go lighter pressure depending on area I am scrubbing, and it stil feels like the job gets done. Can't believe how perfect CACTUS bristles are, coming from boars bristle. I'm a total convert, about face. . . . WARNING, if you are what other reviewers would call a "baby pants" or a "sissy" (lol!) please do NOT get this brush and then write a bad review because it hurts you. If your skin is at all "too sensitive", please just stick with boars bristle, or something less abrasive. For what this is for, it's pure heaven. Wonder how long it will last? Looks like it would last much longer than my other standard skin brush; very sturdy looking and feeling, well made wood that holds bristles. It's
