The real deal - and a bargain price
There are some negative reviews saying this is not a UV torch but just a blue light torch! - What nonsense! Some say it's very dim in daylight!!I really wish people would do some minimal research before spouting on and slating this UV torch for no reason. There are even those giving a negative 'review' because it's smaller than they expected! Seriously?Anyway, this is a true UV torch, not just a 'blue light'!This is very apparent when scanning it round a room, as white and fluorescent objects zing out.See my photo of the security markings on £10 and £20 notes, only visible with UV light, being illuminated with this torch. It's a lovely little thing, nicely constructed, and feels solid. It takes one AA battery (not included) and the battery life seems to be good.It has focussing ability by pulling the front in and out - so the UV beam can be made more concentrated or wider. The light is powerful enough for the intended purpose - I have no problems with the light spread and brightness.I can also confirm this will successfully set UV plastic resin quickly - which is great. One thing to note, of course, is UV light is bad for the eyes, so no staring directly into the torch. This is a great UV torch and thoroughly recommended!I got this on offer at around £7 - an absolute bargain!

Handy little UV torch
For its size its a pretty bright light, feels a solid small tourch.I use this to charge up UV reactive fishing baits such as glowing fake sweet corn, does a great job, leave the corn in front of it for 10min.Also a great thing I found was my kid has a glow in the dark t-shirt - quick shine of this on the shirt and its glowing he loves it.Single button operation so nice and easy to use.

It works, to a degree
I bought this specifically to detect dog urine, as my dog has a medical condition and sometimes cannot last the night until he is walked in the morning. We put a plastic sheet down and limit where he can go so when accidents do happen I can see the urine on the sheet and occasionally on the carpet if it is right on the edge of the sheet. I have used this torch knowing exactly where the urine is on the carpet and there was no glowing at all, even in near darkness. There is a faint glowing of the pool of urine on the plastic sheet but my normal torch illuminates that also.It does illuminate UV markings on money and bank cards but for detecting urine in the carpet I have had no luck with it, so I will be sticking with my tried and tested hand and nose technique.

Good, effective UV torch at a decent price
First of all, for those in doubt about this because other people have reported that it "doesn't work" - they're ignorant of the fact that you NEED to have low ambient light levels for ANY UV device to be effective, unless you have some sort of UV floodlight, which I'm sure would cost a fortune. So, ignorance warning out of the way, does it do the job? In a word, yes.In an otherwise light free bathroom, it easily shows up dilute urine in the pan of a toilet. Bearing in mind that urine's already 99% water, and you're diluting it another 10x in a toilet, it shows up as light green/yellow in a pan that's purple - because it's illuminated by UV spectrum light. Thankfully, apart from the toilet pan I was happy to see that my entire toilet was clean. Interestingly, it picked up some very light white emulsion marks in an equally white basin, which I'd not spotted. Quick scrub and it was gone.On to the kitchen - I definitely need to pay more attention to my cooker ! Likewise light switches, pan handles that need closer attention, and some household cleaners also show up well. Missed patches of paint where the primer and gloss are the same shade also show up very clearly, as did dandruff !This torch also has a flashing mode, not sure what it's for other than to possibly save battery power, but it works at the click of the switch. Both 1.5v alkaline and 1.2v NiMh rechargeable batteries work - it needs just one.All in all, a useful little torch, solidly built, at a decent price, and it does exactly what it says it does, so I'm going to give it five stars.

Great for helping glow in the dark things get their glow on
Bought this because I have a few glow in the dark bits. The inside of my house doesn't get a lot of sunlight, so they weren't glowing well. A few seconds under this bad boy, and they're glowing it up! It's nice and small too, so easy to store or take around with you if you want to
