I was hoping to find less expensive cat dishes made of unbreakable plastic because if I forget to bring them in at night, raccoons get to them and can damage or carry off the bowl. After trying several other cat dishes that were cheaper and flat bottomed, I noticed the cats had trouble mouthing the kibble into their mouths—especially as pieces got shoved over to the rim. It seemed they had a much easier time eating if the food was piled high rather than flat. So I bit the bullet and sprung for these more expensive bowls. They are heavy duty plastic and the ridges in the bowl do a good job of keeping the kibble stacked in the center. It seems the cats eat more of their food in this bowl—probably because it’s less effort to get it into their mouths. I got two bowls but bought only one “stand” to compare side by side to see if the cats preferred to eat from an elevated bowl or not. I was also hoping it would prevent the puking-after-eating issue, but, alas, my cats preferred not having their bowl raised and favored eating it at ground level. I like that there is a cutout at the bottom side of the bowl to help for lifting it up. (Maybe two or more of those cutouts would make it easier yet for grabbing up—I offer as a suggestion for the manufacturer.) And I like the light color bowl because it does not get as hot in the sun as a dark one would. I liked these bowls so much I bought two more. I definitely recommend them.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:After years of using the cat feeding system du jour (slant bowls, raised bowls, slow feed, etc), I noticed that, given a choice, my cats preferred a flatter bowl. These CatGuru bowls keep both my cats and me happy. Each bowl is about an inch high. They feature a ridged shallow bowl that offers a bit of slow eater and a lot of whisker room. There’s a hand opening in the base. I have several of these bowls—-they nest well together, but to separate them, the hand opening is essential. Best of all, my cats are doing better at cleaning up their food…..

I’m super happy with this purchase! The bowls are not only whisker-friendly which my cat absolutely loves, but they also look beautiful and stylish in my home.

I bought this for my kitten who just learned to eat on her own. I had a regular ceramic cat plate that had high edges so food would get stuck and she had a hard time. So I found these!Although they’re nice and big, they’re deep as well, food still goes to the edge and falls over. No big deal but it’s a lot better than having a high edge where she couldn’t maneuver to reach it. Also super cute color!

My favorite bowls for my kitties. I have a blue set, a pink set and the stainless steel set. I love the colors, they are deep enough and I like to use the ridges as a measurement to add some water to their meals to keep them hydrated.

My cat was eating so weird; practically lying on his stomach as he tried to scoop the food into his mouth, but with this new bowl he can eat normally! So it does exactly as I'd hoped.

The media could not be loaded. If you have a flat faced cat, like a Persian, then this bowl is for you! My cat has a flat face so I need a bowl that will not impede his whiskers and provide a flat surface that gives him easy access to the food. As the vid shows, this bowl does both. I’ve tried numerous other bowls and found this one to be the best for him. It’s sturdy, comes in a few cute colors, and is really easy to clean.

These are great for my cats and small dogs.The conclaved food dishes work great with kibble as it all goes to the center of dish as they eat. No waiting for you to move the food out from the sides. Zero whisker fatigue too.The gentle ridges of the dish help to keep wet food from moving to the outer edges so no messy floor to clean.They wash and dry like a charm. They are sturdy but may not hold up to bring dropped.
