Excellent product, buying another tub to finish job.
I purchased the sample tubs peel away 1 and peel away 7 and peel away 7 was the product I needed. The previous owner of our bungalow painted 3 external walls approx 1 metre high with red masonary paint. The bungalow is built with rustic red brick, I tried other paint removal products which did not work. I purchased the large tub 10 kg spent a full weekend applying the paste. I used the spatula to apply the paste and then used a paint brush to spread the paste and push it into the crevices of the bricks. I was able to get approx 12sq meters out of the tub and I purchased extra blankets. I left the paste on for one week and removed 1 sq meter at a time. I removed the blanket and scraped off as much paste and paint as possible. Given that the bricks were rustic and not smooth it was a bit of a task. When I was happy with what I removed I used the power washer to remove the remainder. I took my time power hosing each brick and just finished removing the rest of the paste last week end Saturday 21 Sept. So it took 2 full weekends to do the job. I am very happy with the results the bricks cleaned up well but as they were power washed they are now cleaner than the other bricks that had not been painted. There is a bit of a residue of the paint on some of the bricks, i can live with that. It was a long job but as I said I am very pleased with the result. I will be purchasing another 10kg tub to finish the remainder of the house. Excellent product. I would recommend watching the video on you tube. Hope this is useful, JD

Pretty ineffective
Applied for 48 hours to exterior masonry paint, water based, but removed very little. V disappointing.

Peelaway Paint Remover
This was expensive BUT the best paint remover I have ever used. If you are not versed in using a stripper like this you MUST read the instructions and follow them to the letter especially in terms of face and eye covering and protective gloves. That said it made a difficult job so much easier. The results are excellent

Edwardian House - Brickwork Paint Removal
I was quoted a minimum of 3k to remove around 15 square metres of black paint from a Edwardian house we recently purchased. God only knows why someone chose to ruin a perfectly good feature to the front of the house but we bought the house knowing one way or another it had to go. Yes for 3k the contractors would of used a steam system to remove the residue being a lot faster but with a bit of elbow grease and a few days out the front I removed the lot using peelaway7. I do need to repoint the joints but this is something I can do myself again saving cost. If you have basic DIY skills and a bit of patients then don’t pay the money on contractors as they are ripping people off. Just make sure you have a hard brush head and a spray hose. Take off the peel away with a scraper. What’s left just brush down rigorously with washing machine detergent water to take off what the scraper left. Keep at it and you’ll see the bricks back to what they were before brain dead people defaced them. Once you’ve repointed the joints mild bleach the bricks and they’ll come up as good as new! All in all it will cost me around £250 on materials saving at least £2750. That’s a weeks all inclusive for 2 sitting on a nice beach chilling somewhere. I know where I’d rather spend the money.

Why the huge tub?
This stuff does the job well. I would give it 4 stars but for the fact it comes in a ridiculously huge tub which is only half full. How wasteful.

Sadly not as good as early toxic version
We used the early version of peel away and it was brilliant. Dissolving decades of paint from woodwork in Edwardian house. This one didn't manage to get rid of one layer of paint on some old window shutters. We so wanted the 'green' version to work. Might be alright on one layer of new paintwork.

It Works but be Prepared for Hard Work
We have a wall of engineering bricks that have been painted at least twice. Followed the instructions and watched the YouTube video. After 48 hours the poultice didn’t come away with the sheet as suggested, however the majority did come off after scraping. It’s really difficult to remove from the mortar as it’s like trying to scrape off chewing gum.We found it’s easier to remove the majority of the poultice and paint a thin layer again. After leaving on for 3-4 hours this comes off much easier with a wire brush.Overall this product has done a fantastic job of removing the paint but it takes some seriously hard work and patience to get the end result looking good.
