Made for modern music
I just got these so I haven't had too much chance to test them properly but first impressions are overall good. As per marketing, this product is an absolute BEAST in bass response. Their frequency response starts at 4Hz which is ridiculous because human ears can't even hear frequencies this low but you can almost feel them. Imagine you're in a club stabding right in front of the speakers, specifically the subs - that's what it replicates, and it does a good job at that. The quality feels solid and sturdy, although the earphones are quite bulky comparatively but not uncomfortable - they sit nicely and don't feel too heavy. The microphone is of good quality and very clear. The only issue with them is that the bass loudness might be a bit of an overkill for some music and listeners. If the song is modern and has been mixed/mastered well, especially if it's electronic, then it will sound pretty great, but I wouldn't use them for anything except that. As many have said, it's like a club in your ears so they're compatible with only certain music. Overall, I'm loving them so far as I can reduce the bass in my phone's EQ settings if I feel like the bass is too much, but considering the quality, comfort, crisp sound and price - I think this is an absolute steal! UPDATE AFTER 5 MONTHS: Updated from 4 stars to 5. These have been my main earphones in daily use. I've been listening to music with them pretty much daily and they still work excellent! I've lost a couple of the rubber bits but luckily they came with plenty of replacements! Now I must say... These earphones have ruined all other earphones for me. Listening to DJ mixes and any other music is just absolute pleasure. The amount of bass seemed overwhelming at first but now I cannot live without it. It's awesome to listen to my favourite duo 2manydjs / Soulwax because I feel like the earphones do an incredible job of making you feel like you're actually at the club. I'm buying another pair of them as a backup because after all this time, and for this price, I don't think there is any other product that could even come close to this.

Over 2 years on still perfect!
So I decided to write this review as I recently upgraded to an iphone xs from my 6s so I have lost the earphone jack 😔 as a result of the Apple lightning to audio jack being bloody terrible I have had to start looking at new earphones. Unfortunately Sony doesn’t seem to have some lightning jack earphone as yet. Anyway for the last 2 years I have been using these earphones for about 12hours a day which is my working day length. These are literally the best earphones I have ever owned & I have recommended them to anyone who’s asked. As for the performance these deliver sound crystal clear! No bass distortion even when listening to bass enhanced music. These produce the sound quality of a pair of much much more expensive earphones, so at a bargin of £25 (when I bought them) you cannot go wrong. Durability, as I said I have listened to these pretty much daily since purchase & they still work perfectly, I have lost count of how many times I have accidently caught the wire & yanked them out but they still work perfectly. Constantly being wrapped round my hand for storage & no wires starting to be pulled out. As a reference I used to get through Apples genuine earpods at the rate of about 1 pair every 3-6months. These are very very comfortable also & come with different sized ear pieces. I love these earphones & when I get my new earphones I will keep using these for the majority of my working day as the will still plug into my work laptop. Well done Sony, perfect product in anyway but please, please create a lightning jack pair.

Worth it?
I've bought this product on 8 November 2018, so i think i can now write a review about this product. I will do PROS and CONS of this product. Pros: -The sound is great especially for Hip Hop music, Trap music, Pop music, R&B and similar genres. The bass does a great job for you to really feel the beat and get you hyped especially if you are in the gym. -You can change the sound settings for these headphones which is an amazing feature to have as i could set them to sound perfect to the genres of music i listen to, hence it made me enjoy using these headphones even more. -The cable is just long enough for you to do your daily activities and use the headphones. -This product gives an amazing sound when at max volume too, as the music you are listen to does not deteriorate as you put the volume higher which is great as some headphones i've used in the past some beats would sound significantly worse the louder you set your music for. -Using this product when riding a bike or weight lifting has been great, the headphones don't usually fall out but it does happen when performing these activities. The sound remains great even when there was wind when riding my bike which is really nice. Cons: -Running with these headphones is not a pleasant thing, as i found myself always touching my headphones and pushing them back in so they don't fall out, also once you start sweating heavy the sweat gets into your ears even with these headphones which forces me to stop and wipe them as they will fall out more often once this happens. -As you can see in the pictures, the product looks scratched around the edges and this happened to me right away when i bought this product. After a couple of days then weeks they became visibly "scratched" or like as if the product started "deteriorating" around the edges which was very disappointing, but at the same time it was kind of whatever as i kept them in my ears so i don't look at them anyway. -Just this month the plug is not sturdy anymore, i checked with out headphones and everything is fine. This is very annoying as when i use my headphones now they just unplug from my phone very easily and i keep having to plug it back in. A little turn on the bench or my elbow slightly moving the wire could result in the headphones getting unplugged which is not nice. -Since i've bought this product i was disappointed with the amount of physical features this product had. There's no volume control and you spend £20 on headphones which is absurd from Sony to be honest, i've had more features with my old £5 headphones. This product needs a volume up and down button as i keep have to take my phone out and put volume up or down which is not the best if you are riding your bike, running, or doing any activity. -There should of been a little clip so you can clip the headphones to your shirt, so when you are running there's a smaller chance of the headphones falling off. -The noise cancellation is good for headphones, however i use also my over ear headphones and they are not even close to the noise cancellation they provide. Overall, i still love this product due to its amazing sound it provides which takes over the cons that i have said. The product came in a very nice packaging and different ear buds sizes which are very comfortable and do a good job in noise cancellation for headphones.

Good quality, fits in my ears perfectly, ok sound
I use this model since 2015 or so. Three main reasons: 1) Fits perfectly in my ears (most of this type of headphones are not very comfortable for me - this model is the best in this sense) 2) Quality. Average lifespan of this model (9-12 months). All my headphones (this model) had the same issue: after 9-12 months mic died. Moreover, if the mic dies your smartphone will not recognise this headphones as "headphones" thus ewuiliser will not work and the sound will be awful. They will still work but with bad sound quality and no mic. There was no even once when right or left headphone broke. 3) Good mic. Don't know what to add more here. 4) Price 5) Whited. I like TWS, but often I need whited headphones. I need good, not expensive and reliable. It's a shame tho that this model is rare right now. Could not find white, so bought black...

Made for Drum & Bass / Jungle +EDM, Trance, Techno, Dub, basically BASS music!
Wide soundstage, clear mids & crystal treble. Handle transients amazingly for the price. Transients are sudden, sharp, sounds like cymbals, hand claps and high-hats etc. Cymbals normally end up sounding "splashy" instead of hearing the brass resonating crisply for a few seconds, you get a splash sound as the crisp straight sound turns into an up/down wave of confused mush. Other times, transients can get lost in the mix of other sounds completely. With the MDR-XB50AP's, even during the busiest jungle tune, you can hear everything that's going on, nothing is lost. And the best bit is the low end. These have built in subs with a bass-port to stop the air being pushed by the bass from distorting the overall sound from the 12mm driver. 4hz is low, sub-bass low, and you feel it. It's a beautiful thing. But even better is that you can actually HEAR it, as in the actual NOTE that that was played instead of just some unrecognisable womp womp which all sounds the same until it reaches the mids. With these in-ears you hear every bass note played, including the sub-bass! It really has to be heard to be understood. I've heard £85 in-ears from what is meant to be a superior brand, and they sounded awful, with no bass, and a narrow sound stage. Being able to pinpoint instruments at this price is rare. Add in everything else, and you have the best earphones you'll buy, untill Sony release the MDR-XB75AP's later this year, but they will be 3 times the price, in another league. I Highly recommend the Sony MDR-XB50AP's, and I'm on my 2nd pair as my first died when I stood on them accidentally, but I'd had them over a year and a half, so I didn't mind. I bought the XB70AP's, but honestly, I kept coming back to these as I prefer the sound. Buy them and enjoy your music all over again 🙂

Two issues but overall decent earphones
I just wanted to write to say the sound is amazing and the design is a little bulky but fine very high quality. I had two issues... First of all, I have relatively small ears, and the part that goes into your ear fit fine, but the one issue that arose was the shape. The shape of the part you stick in your ear kind of felt pretty uncomfortable. There was one particular part that just uncomfortably sat on the cartilage of your ear and made it a little painful to wear. The second issue was that the wire was heavier than the earpieces, so the wire just kept pulling my earphones out. Hope noone else had these issues and I'm just being picky! Other than those things, amazing sound, good bass.

Enjoy more bassing songs !!!
Sony earphone usually have bad bass and looks agry. However, this earphone is very different to normal sony earphones. 1. The shape: The shape looks cool and the circle metal thing makes the extra bass. 2. The sound quality: The bass makes me that I feel like I'm using beats earphone. 3. Reasonable price: £30 is not bad price for extra bass series. 4. The cable: The cable don't get tanggled very easily. 5. Noise isolation: It feels like wearing bose noise cancelling earphone for £250. But this earphone is only £30. 6. Case and hard package: The case protects your earphone well and the package is solid! 7. Spare ear cushion: There is small, medium, and large. If you are thinking of buying beats earphone or bose earphones, please think about it. The sound quallity is really simillar and it cost more than £50. This is stupid. Beats and Bose earphones are expensive because the names make the product expensive. I have beats solo 2 and I bought it because it looks cool. However, sony finally released cool good earphone.

Fantastic earphones. Sony have never, ever let me down.
For the price, these earphones are right on point. I purchased these to replace a previous pair of extra bass earphones which I had lost on a transatlantic flight. I was devastated, and at the same time anxious buying a new pair. Would they be any good, have Sony still got their Mojo? - YES. First of all, these earphones are focused on delivering extra bass, its in the name. So if you're an audiophile, or at least appreciate all aspects of music, these certainly aren't the earphones to go for. For me, They're almost perfect. I'll explain my reasoning further down. Pros: -The cable is nice quality, and feels a lot like the cable that came with my MDR-1A's albeit a lot thinner. With that being said, I'm not worried that the cable will break or play up later on. -L-shaped Jack connector. This should be a standard. And something I see a lot of on Sony's recent cans and buds. -Carrying case to protect them from being absolutely battered in my luggage whilst travelling. BONUS. -Plenty of spare buds. The default ones seem a perfect fit for me. -Bass is there, and seems kind of clean (somewhere between deep and boomy.) -Highs are pin sharp. -Capable of ear piercingly loud volumes without failing/crackling. -Great passive sound cancelling. Keeps all the office noise out. They also have a closed design/no vent so they wont leak much. -Inline microphone has receiver compliments for its clarity. -Sony sound signature (My favorite) Cons: -Mids don't sound that 'Full' Maybe I should bed them in a little more and update you all on that point. -Soundstage isn't wide. (no open back/vent) The big room house tracks I listen to sound like I'm sat in the middle of a 6 by 6 foot room with some decent speakers. My other Sony's on the other hand have huge soundstages and actually sounds like I am there at the festival. But the other Sony 'phones I have leak a lot of sound, and will probably annoy a lot of people in the office. These however do not. That's a small compromise I don't mind. All in all, a fantastic pair of earphones. They seem to outperform my colleagues AirPod Pro buds. Lets put it this way, if the AirPod Pros were 20 quid and Vice-versa, I would still buy these. Considering these are actually 10% the cost, I really cannot argue.
