This is super lightweight, but effective in training yourself from scratch! A beginner can easily get used to the technique you use in the beginning (Ytube sooo incredibly helpful for tips and tricks) - In the beginning, I recommend you start with learning about what your “safe side” (uses a rubber strap to indicate which side is which) and your basic open and closed flips - Get super comfortable with this at all speeds and then move on - This is great because you’re going to drop it and this won’t get all messed up like a real blade or some more expensive trainers - (I eventually ended up removing the two small screws that keep the handles spread when in open position so that I get a little more “clack” and not so much assist from the trainer) - Overall very practical for training and getting used to hand motion rather than trusting on the weight of a particular Balisong - 9/10 would suggest for a total beginner!

I wanted to like this squiddy clone but it just time and time again failed. The first one that I bought broke at the pivot around the collar of the pivot screw due to a bad choice in materials. The second wasn't injection molded to a tight enough tolerance to flip correctly. Each time they both suffered from massive tap and play that was so bad it would throw of basic rollouts. I wanted to like it but eh

Lightweight, and durable. Easy to use. Great value for the price.

I have several BenchMade butterfly flippers, and love to play around with them. This flipper is fun to play with, but it is lighter than what I was expecting. However, this is a trainer and not meant to be as heavy as a real flipping knife. The build on this trainer isn't bad, and out of the the box there is some wiggle/play so there will be a little bit of adjustment needed. The hinges are strong, and come with additional screws and washers. The grip on it is sturdy and feels good in your hand. It is fun to play with while you are training on how to flip a butterfly knife! I absolutely can not believe that they can sell this for $27, and out of all the trainers that I have owned this is one of the most fun and eye catching!

The materials and build quality are very nice, the acrylic has a smooth finish and will not cut or scratch your fingers. It came with a fabric carrying case, some extra screws/washers, and a single allen style wrench with two different sized torx bits. all of the screws are torx for some reason, but at least they supplied the tool for them.It feels very smooth while doing tricks, Easy to reccomend to anyone trying to learn how to perform trick safely.Edit: after a day of use, the "blade" end has gotten a small crack. It's entirely my fault, so I will not blame the product for this. Do not remove the small black plug with the rubber rings. I did because it closes more flush without the stopper in place, but this is intentional to prevent the acrylic from slapping into itself when opening and closing it. Same with the small rubber band around one of the handles, I even put another small rubber band on the other handle to prevent any more damage. Just be aware that the material can break fairly easily.
