No SINKing feeling. Just Happy-Happy,Joy-Joy!!!!!
OK, Amazon; You are due a Review!!!I bought this sink in November, the first purchase in what has been a 5 month re-model, and it just went in last week. Until then, except for a quick inspection for damage when it arrived, it has sat in the garage. Only now can I write a review.“STUNNING!” Which is what I expected from KOHLER, but I mean REALLY stunning! First, it’s a True White; no blue, green, bone or gold cast, which some whites have. It has that Kohler glow to it under light, and I even love their logo plate. But what hooked me on this model was the self-trimming Apron front. Workmanship is NOT always what it should be and I knew this style would hide any cutting sins from my installers, and it does. It gives a remarkable and finished look to the entire sink area. It has that substantial “ring” when you knock on it that only enamel-over-iron does, and though I worried about buying the 30” for my small kitchen, and whether it would be large enough, it absolutely is! (BTW: look on Amazon for the silicon roll-up dish drainer racks. BRILLIANT!)A tip if you buy this: A few reviewers say it isn’t necessary as this is NOT the heaviest Farm sink made, BUT! still, I had my crew add a 2x4 support underneath, mid-way along the front-to-back depth of both sides. With over 170# to the sink, and water and contents weight putting it over 200# pounds, it made no sense to me to overload the cabinet frames. The lumber is not stunning admittedly, but I had them go fast and dirty, and I will add paint to the lumber soon. It takes up very little space and gives me huge peace of mind. ALSO, do be sure to follow industry recommendations on the length of your faucet to be sure it can swing to the side and end up above or very close to the sink drain. I don’t like the look of counter sprayers but opted for a pull out sprayer in my streamlined (but vintage looking; go figure!) Venetian Bronze faucet and am very happy I made that decision. I can ignore it, which I will do most of the time, but it will stretch to the full 30” width of the sink when I need it to.INSTALLATION TIP: This is an under-mount installation, and my Granite cutter was marvelous. We crafted a beautiful curved line to the front interior edge of the granite, and it echoes the interior curve of the sink corners, and the return curve on the self-trimming Apron. The entire result is elegant, artful, and practical as all water can be easily sponged toward the sink basin! Sorry, no photo to share yet… 'This was an Amazon Marketplace purchase from Build.com, and there were a few necessary conversations about shipping issues, BUT! It was a slight shipping glitch; NOT Amazon’s fault, and Build.com came through. They were responsive and HONEST, as my sink was discounted as a “USED” item since the box had been opened for a visual demo at their end. They insured me it was in flawless condition (it is), and in buying through Amazon I knew I had their backing as well. All in all I will grant all 5 stars to this transaction, because Amazon does not deserve a reduction, though I’d make it a 4 if I was judging on Build.com’s shipping alone. However I have purchased other things from Build.com and this was the first problem, and it was the shipping group’s fault. I talked to Build.com during the delay, they kept me informed, and they assured me they would deal with it. They did; and they have informed me that they no longer use that transporter. In the end, everyone stepped up.I have not yet once been disappointed by Amazon or their marketplace vendors. Even in an instance that it was PURELY my error in ordering an item not to California’s strict new energy codes, they graciously refunded my purchase with no fuss.LOVE AMAZON! And I LOVE my Kohler Apron Sink! 5 STARS for this transaction!

An impressive beast of a sink
I himmed and I haaa'd a lot before finally buying this sink. It's expensive, but wow is it impressive once installed.First, it's heavy, about 130 lbs. You aren't moving it on your own. It came on a liftgate box truck from Amazon. I had it shipped to my work because I had a forklift I could use there. The delivery people were delighted that I did this.Install requires a bit of work. You must construct a frame out of 2x4's in the base cabinet this goes in after cutting the hole in the front of the cabinet for the apron. I went through three skill saw blades to get this cut (one was my fault because I tried cutting through a screw I did not know was there using the wood blade. After lots of foul language I was ready to slide this puppy in to place. A friend helped and we were able to heave it up without too much issue.A word of warning, the instructions have you installing the frame such that the sink sits a bit below the countertop level. The countertop installer is having me raise the sink some. We're talking 1/8" of an inch, but I wish I had known before hand. After that I was able to install a 1hp garbage disposer, which barely fit. The location of this in the back corner is great and lets you have very compact plumbing under the sink. To a degree it is almost too compact, but I am glad I have it nice and tight. I also fit a RO water filter and storage tank easily along with some other kitchen cleaning supplies.I find myself knocking on the front of the sink from time to time to hear the sound it makes. The size is great also, I am really liking the one giant tub aspect. I also purchased the wire frame that goes in the bottom, this is worth it as it keeps the enamel in better shape. Cleaning is easy with the Kohler cast iron cleaner. I've been using this for around two months so far and it cleans up to look like it is brand new every time.
