I have a pretty low end motherboard and i'm afraid it will not do justice to this headphones. would you recommend a dac or perhaps xonar dg?

Should i get these or the philips fidelio x2hr/00, i will be using the mainly for voip calls with the v-moda boompro microphone?

These are better in my personal opinion, I got mine for £35 brand new from aliexpress which was much better than the £95 here on amazon.

The cups look as if they are made of some sort of netted material rather than a solid pad, are they comfy or a bit scratchy?

The over sized nature of the pads make them very comfy, and yeah the pads are a ribbed/netted material but they are not scratchy they are quite soft.

can I fit a v moda boompro to these?

Yes. They will fit on any headphones. Be mindful that they are open-backed headphones so you may have some noise on the mic.
