Fast paced adventure
I had heard that the last two Tintins (this one and Picaros) were not Herges finest work, but I found Flight 714 very enjoyable. Not only for bringing back some of my favorite characters in Rastapopolous and Allan, as well as the perennially peripheral Skut, but also introducing some rather odd new individuals who added a lot of colour to the story. Without revealing too much, the plot is very much the most "out-there" of all the Tintin adventures and this perhaps what other readers have been disappointed by. For me though it is Herge moving with the tastes of the times whilst still managing to maintain the timeless qualities of the rest of the series. I understand that in the Picaros (the next album in the series) Herges dresses Tintin in flares instead of plus-fours and maybe this will be a bridge to far for me. I would say that this album should be approached as a slapstick adventure that stretches the imagination in a way not seen before in Herge's work and the ligne clare style is taken to new heights and you can feel Herges pleasure in drawing modern aeroplanes and vehicles as well as a return to tropical landscapes. A great bit of fun.

TINTIN BOOKS
I loved Tintin books as a child. I wanted my grandchildren to experience the same reading joy I did. Herge had a brilliant knack for subtle humour.

Good Boy's Book
I'm not a Tin Tin fan, but these books are A4 size, good value and my friend's son was very pleased with them as a Christmas present. There was a great choice of titles, delivery was quick and they were well packaged so I would recommend them.
