Impressed
Have had the laborious task of repointing the side of my house. Wasn’t expecting much from this little contraption. It arrived on time and undamaged. Comes with numerous attachments to help fit your angle grinder, one flaw though, the supplied spanner doesn’t fit my grinder locking nut which I thought were universal, but from reading other reviews would appear the supplied spanner is the wrong size, nonetheless, once you work out how to fit it to your grinder, which at first takes a while until you get the hang of it it fits snug onto my grinder, there’s an attachment that opens the whole thing out to make putting your disk on and off easily and another adjustment which allows you to grind at the same specific depth continually without having to guess, there is a guide arrow on the front of the shroud so as long as you work out where in relation to the arrow guide your disk is (mine was slightly offset from the arrow) you can’t go wrong.Attached the shroud to a recently purchased industrial hoover and bingo, dust free grinding. Worked an absolute treat, 3 x 20 kg bags of mortar dust later and the job is complete.Don’t think the neighbours appreciated the noise of a grinder and industrial hoover constantly running for a day or so but i am sure they are pleased with the lack of dust. The product is 100% recommended. Well worth the money.

Better than expected.
I wasn’t expecting this to be as good as it was. It’s a bit fiddly to set up, and I miss the disc spacer in the box, which centres the cutting disc within the extraction hood.Used with m class Makita vacuum and it sucked all the dust away with no leaks. If you use the depth guage for a shallow cut it leaves space for dust to escape, but not a problem with a powerful dust extractor.

What's not to like?
Wanted to chase some walls out in my house without making too much of a mess but wasn't prepared to spend £££'s on a dedicated wall chaser or extraction system.Decided to go down the route of buying this and also the Vacmaster wet and dry vacuum which is also from Amazon, so under £100 for this setup.Fits my Milwaukee M18 grinder perfectly with the included size adapter. The vac hose fits snugly no problem onto the unit.Once fitted there is a small indicator which you can adjust to the position of the blade which is extremely helpful. When it comes to cutting you have an adjustable depth setting which is simple to use.Once the vac is powered up and you make your first plunge, a small amount of dust is generated but if taken slowly then the vac will pull most of this dust out anyway. Once you have reached full cutting depth, the clear shroud ultimately seals around the cutting area and works absolutely spot on, you can apply pressure onto the shroud, move the grinder where you want to cut being nice and steady and it sucks up all the dust, i cut a 2 meter chase in the wall at full depth horizontal and vertical and i had no dust whatsoever.Such a simple but extremely effective device, the only mess comes afterwards when chiselling the wall for back boxes! If i'm being picky the only gripes i have are that the blade indicator is only on one side of the device meaning that you can only know where the blade is on one side of the device. Also the hole in the centre i had to block up with a piece of gaffa tape as i'm sure if this was left open it would impede the vacuum effectiveness.Top marks!

Absolutely terrible - Avoid!!
Using this to mortar rake for repointing on and old (c.1900) house. Using a 6mm diamond blade connected to a Festool vac with CT pre-separator there was more than enough suction to cope. However, the exhaust port has two grill vents which direct airflow. These clog up within seconds and then dust is everywhere. the hood cannot cope with slightly larger pieces of debris and, again, clogs. vacuum adaptor fits well to the intake of the dust extractor but is just a bit too small for the exhaust port - meaning the vac hose does not have a snug fit, this then leaks dust and, also, dislodges very easily. Finally when setting the depth gauge it doesn't sit flush to the wall which, creates more dust and also damages the bricks.Unfortunately can't return it as it's now used but this is a terrible bit of kit - save yourself time and money!!

Great bit of kit
The media could not be loaded. Mixed reviews so wasnt sure but saw the video with dewalt grinder like mine so thought ill give it a go and what a bit of kit.So for my dewalt grinder I had to take off the stupid lever bolt thing that holds the guard on which I never use anyway, used the smallest ring and it fits perfect.Do it up nice and tight and put the disc on and make sure you line the guard up properly because i melted it a bit first time but it was user error.Used a henry hoover and as long as you check it doesnt get blocked every so often it works great, hardly any dust escapes at all, really nice having usually done this without the dust extraction haha.

Universal - but doesn’t fit mine well
This dust extractor/shroud looks to be ideal for chasing small sections of wall. However, this didn’t fit my angle grinder well (an older model) and I had to find a new bolt and put the clamp under a lot of strain. As a result I couldn’t lock the dust shroud in place.I also found the shroud often hindered cutting.Positives: it did allow for some extraction, it did slightly reduce the amount of dust formed.Negatives:Not as universal as it could be.A bit clunky.

Impressive
Had to chase out a channel for new water pipes in a screed with underfloor wet heating installed. I wanted something which would completely minimse dust and also so I could set the exact depth measurement to avoid going through the underfloor heating. This was perfect, worked a treat and made the job easy. I will say that it did not fit my makita grinder but fitted an old wired grinder no problem.
