Has anyone been told by a vet that it has helped keep cat's teeth clean? These are expensive so I'm looking for proof they work.

I took my cat to the vet one year ago and was told that there were problems with his teeth and gums (his gums were too soft/he might be getting gingivitis/etc.). They recommended either brushing his teeth (haha!) or trying greenies/dental treats. I started buying these treats and fed him his serving size after his can of soft food. I didn't give him greenies every day/after every regular meal, but he's been through maybe two or three of these tubs in one year. I took him to the vet last week for his annual visit and the vet said his gums and teeth are really healthy, and to keep doing what I was doing. It doesn't help his fishy breath, but it apparently helps clean his teeth.

Will it hold a very small pill? My cat needs to take a tiny little pill for hyperthyroidism. Thanks for your help:)

My cat takes the little pills for hypothyroidism, half of one twice a day, so the vet's office suggested using half of a pill pocket for each pill, and that's just enough for the half pill. Only once in a little over a month was it not enough and the pill ended up on the floor, I probably didn't break off quite enough or roll it up well. As long as you have enough to cover the pill, you should be good. They break up and mold together very easily.

They are not 100% made in the USA, they use ingredients from China. DO NOT use it. My 3 cats got sick from it, they have this pattern for years. Use Minties or Nylabone, 100% USA made. We reported it to the FDA.

how many in each bag?

I did not count the number of individual treats in a bag. I poured the remains of a 5 ounce bag out and estimated about 25 per handful. there were 10 full handfuls left and I was told that about 2 or 3 handfuls had been fed. This would make a count of 300 to 325 individual treats. sorry I can't be more exact but the cats really like them.
