Keeping cool and comfy!
I recently purchased the HiBloks Facebook Cover Pad with Cooling Fan. This is actually my second purchase of this product as I seen they had made changes to the original design. Having owned the original design, I felt it was a solid product, but comfort was a bit lacking and some of the mesh inserts where the air would vent through came loose over time. I'm happy to say that both of these were things they fixed on the new design iteration! I'm reviewing this item around the same time as the groundbreaking Batman Arkham Shadows VR game has released, and if you have played this, you'll know how much of a workout the combat can be. This fan and face pad in turn have been a godsend, and I have no doubt, if Bruce Wayne was fighting in VR, he'd design some hi tech accessories just like this to aid him in his efforts. HiBloks has nailed this design providing a good balance of both comfort and functionality. The face pad comes with two options that adhere to the Velcro inside and provide unique feels to the way it fits to your face. Both are very comfortable, but I found myself gravitating more towards the leather pad more so than the cotton. I can finally play a couple of hours in VR and come out of it without a red ring on my face! 🤣 The fan is absolutely phenomenal. It operates with its own battery that is charged up via USB C and it mounts right on to the facial interface that is part of this product. It is very easy to remove, recharge, and equip again. The battery actually keeps a good charge for a decent length of time and blows cool air through the unit cooling you off and preventing sweat and heat from hampering your experience. The lenses do not fog up nor is there air blowing directly into your eyes and drying them out as the design vents it around properly to where this isn't an issue. I've also found my unit is less likely to overheat after hours of continuous high performance play. Another thing I'll add here is that HiBloks has also added in a piece in this iteration that forms around your nose and blocks out light leakage which is a nice extra value add. Overall, I can't sing this accessory's praises enough. To me, it's a must have to your VR arsenal.

Great cooling fan for Oculus 3s 💯💨💨💨
My son sweats SO bad while playing his Oculus 3s. So this was a game changer for him! He loves it! Keeps him from getting super sweaty, works great, blows a good amount of air, easy assembly. He is 13 and put it on his Oculus headset himself. Buy it you won't be disappointed. 💯💨💨💨💨💨💨

(UPDATED) Seems to work pretty well, will update after some use.
**UPDATE** So I just spent the last hour or so in my headset. First 30 minutes doing a dedicated workout, and where previously I'd essentially lose my ability to see anything due to the fog in about 2 minutes, was able to see clearly the whole time, and only had the fan on the first setting. The fan seems to kind of alternate between a low and a high speed as you use it. You can absolutely hear it but it is easy to ignore. The second thirty minutes I was playing Pavlov, which is a fairly active FPS game. Kept it on low speed the whole time, and not even a little fog. On top of that, my head as a whole felt cooler, which is awesome. Any sweat that started to work it's way inside, was immediately evaporated away. Now, I am playing late at night, and I keep my thermostat super low at night for better sleep, so the colder ambient air MIGHT have played a role here, but even if you have to bump it up to high speed, it still wasn't stupid loud. Just be prepared for a ton of air moving past your eyes! 10/10 would recommend, but 100% also recommend switching out the pad for the one I linked below (maybe they sell the pad without the plastic bit, don't know. Still leaving my review at 4/5 just due to the bad pad that it comes with. And maybe that's just my head shape (which I thought was pretty normal) It definitely cools the eyes, which is a strange sensation, but totally not a problem, and way better than the rainforest that usually happens inside the headset otherwise. **Original** So, pros. The fan works great and isn't super loud, I'll update if it ends up being a problem. NOTE. The nose leaks a ton of light. And the pad is pretty uncomfortable (thick on the forehead, light everywhere else). I luckily already have the AMVR facial interface (https://a.co/d/gprmXoG), and after glueing the nose piece onto the new interface, blocks all the light, and the pad velcro's into place making it more comfortable. The fan seems to work well, I haven't done a long session yet, so can't say about the whole eye drying thing or the sound. But will update this review soon with actual stuff. Just thought I'd start with first impressions, and how in super glad I had that other faceplate 😂

So far so good
There aren't many options for facial interfaces with fans that are compatible with the Quest 3S yet. HiBloks seems to be first out of the gate with theirs, and since lens fogging is a big issue for me when using Supernatural in VR I went ahead and purchased even though I've never heard of the brand. So far I'm pleased, though I've only had the device long enough to use it in a couple of workouts. But the facial interface itself is very comfortable, the optional nose piece helps to block out some additional light, and the choice of face pad covers is nice since you can choose between comfort and washability if you need to. Unlike some fans for the Quest 2, this device blows air INTO the headset rather than pulling warm moist air out, and it has fabric covered vents on the bottom for exhaust. I thought that blowing air in would be annoying and cause dry eyes, but so far that hasn't been a problem. It actually kept me cooler than the exhaust style fan on my old Quest 2, and sweat was less likely to run into my eyes. And it reduced lens fogging to zero. The fans themselves (there are two) are reasonably quiet and seem effective. I can't say anything about build quality or longevity of the fan unit because I've only had the product for a couple of days, but so far it's more than lived up to expectations.

Great idea - could have better execution
I love the idea of this product. It does indeed provide better ventilation to reduce fogging on the lenses. That said, due to the orientation of the device, it does pull in warm air from the vents of the Quest 2, so it ends up circulating warm air into your eyes, rather than cool room-temperature air. Pros: Helps prevent fogging Keeps face dryer while using VR in warmer weather Cons: Fan is quite loud Air pulled in is warm from the exhaust on the Quest 2 The material was quite warming on the skin, whereas the provided silicone cover for the Quest 2 felt cooler to the touch.

Better than first one I tried
I've had my Quest 2 since it was first introduced, back in the dark ages when there were hardly any accessories available. I tried a fan like this then and was extremely underwhelmed, which led me to devise my own system with a pair of USB-powered computer fans. Fast forward to the golden age of the Q2 where we are now. Decided to try this setup. I first bought the Lycra variant. That was "like new" but didn't charge. Just as well - I didn't like the Lycra at all, being used to PU leather. Exchanged for a new one that works properly. I think the secret to this working better is the special face bracket with channels that route the air flow directly down inside the headset. I say "down" because the air flows past your eyes, not into them. Kind of a weird sensation, like cool water flowing past. Definitely prevents fogging and helps it feel less stuffy in there (I still wear a necklace fan so air is coming in from both directions). It's actually very quiet. I don't understand the complaints about noise; maybe I'm just used to noise from my DIY system. The added weight is negligible to me. 2-hour battery life seems about right. Just finished a game of Demeo and that finally killed it. Is this going to keep you cool through intense Beat Saber sessions? Probably not noticeably. I actually like the variable setting, if it's on constantly it "fades into the background" and you don't feel it anymore. But for less sweaty games this is definitely worth a shot. Much better than that first fan I tried all those years ago.

Cheap product, bad battery
The battery life is very short, lasts maybe an hour or 2 After some time, my battery died completely and refused to charge or turn on so I got a new one Within a day of the new one, that battery was already dead and wouldn't charge either as well The face cover also doesn't clip onto the headset completely at the bottom and that gets annoying after a while too (it might just be for ventilation though, unsure) It's a cheap product that doesn't seem to last long, wouldn't recommend First Image: Shows product plugged in on a powered charger, set to the "on" position. Even the LED wont turn on Second Image: Shows the gap at the bottom of the headset where it does not fit into place correctly (Pulled it down to demonstrate that it doesn't connect or fit in place well) *EDIT* I returned the defective item and re-bought them 3 times total Not one of them worked, refusing to charge at all Thought 3 times would be the charm but nope, all items seem to be defective now Which is upsetting because my first purchase lasted almost a year and I really liked the product Other fans have issues with the Quest 2 that kept shutting off the headset, this one never did that

Really works - makes gameplay so much more comfortable
Picture is of what's inside the box. Included is the fan, charging cord of good length, face pad, and instructions. It's nicely packaged, and I'll reuse the box. There's only a little bit of plastic and a drying packet to throw away, the rest is paper/recyclable, which I appreciate. Instructions are easy to follow (I didn't need them). The fan has 2 settings. I use the high/high setting, except when my allergies are acting up and my eyes water, and then I turn it down to the high/low setting. This fan really works! When I forget to turn it on, it is so hot and uncomfortable to play. I charge it after each play session. I have never had it run out of battery, I play up to 2 hours at a time. The face mask is comfortable. After months of nearly daily use, I've unstuck it from the velcro and moved it up, and that's taken care of discomfort issues. At this point, I can't imagine playing without this fan. Pros: This works! Keeps me cool, I don't notice noise, is lightweight and comfortable, and charges perfectly. Cons: After months of use, I've had to readjust the mask. I've had to do this with all Quest accessories, so this isn't a big deal. Wish list - I'd like it to turn on automatically when I put the Quest on, and turn off when I take it off. I doubt this is feasible, especially at its reasonable price.
