Perfect for my mum to hold on to getting in ...
Bought this 8 or so months ago and it is very strong only came off once which was near to when I first placed on the wall and due to slight air gap but once noticed you had to really push down and then press hard on the button has been solid. Perfect for my mum to hold on to getting in and out of the bath without drilling into the tiles.

Returned...faulty suction lock
First fixed it and thought it had potential. Seemed sturdy and strong. Cleaned tiles, followed instructions exactly and fixed on tiles not over joins. Unfortunately the suction which seemed fine initially, didn’t last. On one end the suction lock didn’t work properly and was no longer adhered to the tiles. It frightened us all falling off the tiles into the bath at 3am! I tried to refit numerous times...all times failed after a short time being attached...just glad it didn’t fall whilst my mother was holding it. I returned. Maybe we were unlucky with a faulty unit, but I didn’t take the chance of reordering. It seemed promising and sturdy initially, but as I say...if it fails regularly, one day she might be holding onto it at that moment....so a thumbs down here.

Not as safe as I'd hoped.
I bought this to use in the shower for something to help maintain my balance. When first attached it seems quite secure but the suction soon reduces and the device detaches from the tiled surface. I've tried multiple times, cleaning both surfaces thoroughly, tried dry and wet and in each scenario suction doesn't last for long. Might be ok for a quick shower but I'd have to reattach each time I got in the shower which isn't very practical.

At last an affordable invention that actually works
Brilliant , did not expect these to be as good as they are for the price. So long as you are using these in tiled areas and your tiles are fairly even, clean of any surface dirt and are firmly fixed (ie bathroom) and you use as intended ie a 'helping hand' such as supporting you getting in to a bath , shower, a 'hold on to ' while towelling etc , and not a expecting them to take your 'absolute full body weight' ..they are amazing ! Saved my arthritic wife from falls in the bathroom a few times . I don't know why there are negative reviews .just push down on tiles (avoiding grout lines as per common sense) and push the levers down . There's a confidence indicator by way of a green/ red indicator , but I give it a wiggle to make sure. I find sticking to the tiles and then pushing down evenly and firmly with both hands while pushing the lock levers to be effective every time. These have an easy release system take it from me once these grab bars are mounted correctly they are pretty solid ! Anyway thats just my experience opinion , hope it helps somebody..

Doesn't do what it says it does.
We stuck this to our firm tiling at the side of the bath, as soon as we tried to use it the suction didn't hold. we re-applied it in a different area and made sure the tab said it was secure, but it did the same again. Not much use in the bathroom where it is meant for, because the steam makes it slide about. We ordered a bath lift and included this in our order along with a bath step (which also looked as if we were getting 3 steps reducing down in sizes, but only got one big one.) If this was supposed to be an aid for holding ( not pulling on ) while getting out of the bath, it failed and we wouldn't recommend it to anyone, especially the elderly.

Please be CAREFUL
Please be careful. I recently had a knee injury and had to have an operation. Fixed this product in my shower prior to the operation to be able to use it afterwards. It was good at the beginning. However, with time, the steadiness was affected. I was in the shower, held it to help me to stand up without putting pressure on my left leg as advised by the specilaist for the first 6 weeks after the operation, and it slip, simply detached from the wall and slip. Thankfully, i was still almost sitting on the shower chair and i did not have any trauma or compliaction. I could not re fix it afterwrads eventhough i tired. I believe it is because of the steam in the shower cubicle, it got detached.Just wanted to clarify this so people can avoid accidents like this.
