Does what it says on the tin. These firelighters light immediately and burn for several minutes, and will easily light a wood fire without even much kindling; it will light a 3cm thick seasonsed wood piece without problems. They don't smell of anything, particularly not of petroleum fuel, and do not dry out either. I was impressed enough to buy the 5kg box which continues to work well. I strongly recommend them.

These firelighters are great (I even re-ordered)!If you have a log burner/wood stove or BBQ, natural firelighters are the way to go. You shouldn't use chemical lighters in BBQ's or near food and personally I hate the toxic smell of lighting the wood stove with chemical lighters and can't imagine it's 'healthy' to have such fumes in your house.These all natural lighters are made with a straw-like/wood strip material, wound and wax coated.It's worth noting, I have found cheaper versions of 'eco' firelighters from Home Bargains and B&M, however, before you rush out and buy them, the quality difference plays an important role in whether to choose this product.Whilst the Home Bargains version is £1.99 for 40, they are very loosely wound and less dense - therefore they burn for a shorter time. This results in the need to use more of them to get your fire going (especially if you have anything other than 'bone dry' kindling).Last night, I used 6-7 to light our stove at home whereas with the Feniks lighters, I would use 2 at most (which is why I re-ordered the feniks lighters and am writing this review)!Therefore, these firelighters, whilst more expensive per box, are actually cheaper in the long run as to how many fires you can light with them.Definitely recommended!

These are great. They are non toxic, so have no smell so are perfect for the barbecue. We also use them to light the wood burner. They light and burn really easily and set the fire or barbecue going in no time. So much better than stinky old firelighters! Eco friendly too, what's not to like?

I tried one by itself on the fire and worked nicely. With kindling and coal worked OK but not as well as standard firelighters. Given the price and efficiency, I may use these for a dying fire rather than starting one. Way cheaper alternatives out there

Long time since I used briquettes on a BBQ, been a gas guy for ages...recently purchased a portable BBQ and used these guys to get the briquettes going, used 3 at first, one too many, reduced to 2 the second time and still beleive one too many, will downsize to one firelighter and see how that goes, beleive it will do the business...Very easy to use, ignite first time and starts the briquettes no problem..pleased with purchase and will definately buy more when needed.

Good value product that I use for my wood-burning stove.Smell-free (hence no stars for 'scent') and clean to use.One is enough to get the logs burning nicely.This is a re-order, as I finished my first box last week.Delivery was next day and on time.

The starter pack for one of my stoves came with this type of fire lighter, but from a different brand. After some searching I decided to go with these as they were much better value.The firefighters themselves never fail to light and if positioned correctly will always ensure your kindling takes, even if you use quite chunky pieces.They arrived quickly on Prime delivery and are also available to buy in bulk (5&10kgs).Highly recommended!
