My last one was smooth, never really thought about it. This one has a subtle course finish, it's so much easier and quick to work with. Completely happy, an excellent product.

Decent quality, heavy stone grinding set purchased to grind medication. Handle comfortable, easy to use and was pretty good value. It's a little difficult to clean but otherwise great

Got this for occult practice,it's heavy duty hand the granite is really tough so you aren't grinding long, great for salts and herbs it's really really good! Spool is easy to break but I'm not Jinxing it! very happy with it!all the bad reviews is because the spool got broken, don't take notice of them take it from me this is a great product all round!

It works really good. Grindability is perfect. Looks great, easy to clean. The weight is just fine. Mortar cracking is great.

Looks good. It is small but very functional and has a very good heavy weight to it so feel like a real chef in the kitchen

I bought when this was in a sale. I grinded some spices, prepared ginger galric paste. It was easy and comfort to use and clean. Looks good when left on the kitchen top. Worth for what I paid.

The pestle snapped in half on delivery, a very flimsy product that will break if dropped etc, save your money don't believe the reviews, the second one replacement also came with EXACT SAME FAILURE. Wasting my time and money having to keep driving to post office to send them back
