Viking Culinary Professional 5-Ply Stainless Steel Stock Pot with Lid, 8 Quart

As a lifelong All Clad user, when we switched from a Gas range, to an induction cooktop, we had to replace almost all of our aluminum pots and pans. We purchased a few All Clad Copper Core, but the price point was becoming more and more prohibitive. Now, with five pieces of Viking 5-ply under our roof now, I'm happy to say that I think we've found a quality, cost-effective replacement. All of the pieces we've obtained have been heavy-duty, well constructed, and (due to the amount of stainless steel in the ply's) perfect for induction cooking. It's too soon to speak of longevity. We had our All Clad for more than a decade with no problems. I suspect we'll have a similar (but less expensive) experience with our Viking cookware.

I'm happy that this pan is not as thick as my 7-ply 4 qt version - this pan is substantial enough. High priced but I think worth it.

This is the best cooking pot I have ever had! Nothing burns, it heats evenly, is a great size and looks beautiful! I will buy other sizes as I need to replace my old stuff.

Perhaps a bit of an investment, however if you take care of this pot, you'll never need to buy another one. Heat conducts evenly, easy to clean and it's beautiful.

Worth every penny!
