Would this give me 2 large mugs of coffee?

It will give you two medium size mugs if you fill the water to just below the brass safety valve. If you use a electric hob then switch hob off when coffee is half way up, (leave on hob to finish) this will then continue to fill up but without "burning" the coffee (leaving a bitter taste). Stir before pouring. I use Lavazza Rosa in 60 ml measuring spoon.

Is there a larger size than 9 cup model

Bialetti advertises a 12 cup but it may not be so easy to get

What is the diameter of the 9-cup size thread? Need to replace the top half of an old electric one, which i just pulled out of the dishwasher, ruined!

I only have the two cup one, have you tried looking for your size 9 cup on Amazon, hopefully the product size could be in the description.
