Excellent feeders
Good robust feeders, I purchased 2 of them. I have had other make but nowhere nearly as good as these. My other ones had become faulty, but I already had one of these for years which was still as good as new. Hence purchasing these.

Sturdy, galvanised and not too big
Peanut feeders are designed to let smaller birds like blue tits cling to the cage and peck pieces off peanuts. This tends to mean that a single fill will last quite a long while compared to loose seed feeders as the birds aren't able to throw the bits they don't want on the floor. The size of this feeder is a great balance between a whothwhile fill, a feeder big enough to accommodate 2 or 3 small birds at the same time and not being so big that the nuts in it end up going stale and being wasted. The galvanized wire construction means it's sturdy enough for the birds to grip with their feet while feeding while being resistant to the elements and easy to clean witha stiff brush. I don't know how many years it will last before the galvanizing starts to come off but it feels like it will last a pretty long time. It's also pretty squirrel resistant - at least when placed alongside easier targets - I've watched out local squirrel inspect this one a couple of times but he quickly moves on to the sunflower heart feeder which is a much softer, more productive target. All things considered, a good addition to the mix of bird feeders to support smaller birds.

Good but not squirrel-proof out-of-the-box
Holds masses of nuts! However squirrels, being the cunning little buggers they are, will shake it or knock it off the little branch we hang it on. Result- the lid comes loose and out come the nuts. Squirrels dance around in joy, and the poor little birdies go hungry :-(Solution- drill a hole in the lid, and bend & drill a strip of metal such that it can be attached to the lid using a bolt at the same time it hooks under the bar through the top of the cage. A long bolt is needed so you can provide enough slack to drop the strip of metal so the hooked part clears the bar, then lift the lid as you would normally.Hey presto! The squirrels can swing on the feeder all day long (and sometimes they do- right little acrobats they are) the lids stays on- even when they bring it all crashing down (which also happens a lot) the lid stays on, and the feeder stays intact.Result- squirrels grumpily return to their stable diet of acorns, while the birds rejoice and get fat on peanuts! :-D Just hope the local cat population doesn't cotton on...

First one lasted 6 years!
We brought this peanut holder 6 years ago.The birds feed from it daily, and we also have a few squirrels competing too.Despite the squirrels doing some damage over the years, it has lasted really well, so we've just replaced it with the same make.Hope it lasts as long as its predecessor!

Excellent quality.
Latest in a line of 'standard' bird feeders. I have to keep replacing them due to the resident squirrels. I don't want to go down the squirrel proof feeders route, as they're fairly ugly, relatively expensive and I like having the squirrels. They have in past simply ripped open my previous feeders.Ive waited a month to review this one, and so far really pleased. Not noticably dearer than all the alternatives, but claimed the cage was made of stainless steel (where the squirrel normally gets in) and looking at the welds I think it is.So far so good no sign of damage.Very well made and sturdy at an excellent price point.I'll up date this review if I'm proved wrong over time.

Best feeder yet
Best feeder I have had, the various birds have managed to bend & bite thru every similar feeder I have had in a few months. This one is still as new after over 2 years of use by the birds even the heavy crows & parakeets have not damaged it. I would add that I have a baffle protecting the feeder from squirrel attack.

Impressed overall by great price & sturdiness
Bought this for my stepdad's birthday as he needed a new feeder for the bird feeding station. Paid yesterday and it's here today. It's a little rough in places on the mesh but it looks really sturdy and weatherproof. It even comes with an allen key so you can remove the little stands on the bottom part to take the base out, presumably for cleaning, which is partly why the new feeder was required, so that's great.I'm really impressed with the value for money for the product, just let's hope that the birds love it and it lasts well.

Robust
Metal nut feeder is excellent. Ordered both seed and nut feeders from same company but I but don't understand why they were delivered separately. Apart from that really pleased with this metal feeder it will last a long time.
