Are they attached to the clips, or do I need to buy a hot glue bun to assemble them myself?

No, the clips are included in the package but separate in a small plastic bag, you have to attach them yourself, you don't need to use hot clue, very simple and easy. You will not be disappointed. I really like them.

How do you put them together? I am not finding a way to attached the clips to the flower if you dont need a glue gun.

There is a tiny pin on the clip, you need to insert the flower stem into that clip, it stays on pretty good. Best of luck.

Are they very glittery and will they make a mess?

Just a little bit on the petals. They look nice when all the lights on (on the Christmas tree) No, they will not make a mess.
