Ronseal RSLIVSLO250 250ml Quick Dry Satin Interior Varnish - Light Oak

Colour is ideal giving an ideal light oak finish to the wood. Revived a shabby bannister.

The varnish itself is easy to apply & dries quickly (1hr), so can re-coat quickly. Colour looks strange in the tin but was exactly the right shade when applied. Finish was good after 3 coats - a little goes a long way. Quite expensive for a small tin (250ml).

Easy to work with, lovely colour and even finish. Love that it’s soapy water wash up. Would buy again.

This is very yellow for my idea of light oak. I used it on untreated wood. Easy to use but you will have to stir well before starting. It looks a murky grey yellow colour in the tin. Dries quickly and as satiny as expected. The brush washes out easily with water and detergent.

I used this to seal the sawn edges of some oak doors that I recently had fitted. As you can see from the pictures, the sawn edges were very light and raw looking in comparison to the pre-finished sides of the doors but this varnish has done an absolutely superb job at bringing out the character of the oak and giving it a uniform look. I'd recommend this to anyone else who needs something to fulfil the same (or even a similar) purpose.

This was used on the top of an antique side table. The finish was beautiful and I did sand down between coats with suitable sandpaper as recommended. Four stars instead of five because the colour was called medium oak and it was very light. More like light oak or pine. I would have got a better result if I had used a stain first.

Arrived on time & well sealed. Great product & fab to find it at this low price, as it's really expensive in the shops.
