Ailrik - medieval short sleeve tunic with decorative trim, in brown, green or blue This tunic is perfect for representing many north and central European tribes from the time of the Migration Period up to the High Middle Ages. Made from cotton and finished with an appliqued trim. The braid pattern on the trim is based on the B23 band pattern discovered in Birka. The round neckline has a slit in the centre front and can be worn either open or closed with a brooch or clasp. Gores (wedge shaped pieces of fabric) have been inserted into the side seams from the hips. There are slits in the middle of both the back and front of the hem, meaning that the tunic can also be worn when horse riding. For an authentic look we would recommend wearing the tunic together with a leather belt.
