It's quite difficult to 'love' a gravel tray but this fitted the bill perfectly for my specific use. This is placed underneath a shower pump, located in the attic. Thus if the shower pump develops a leak like my last one did I'll at least protect the attic chipboard flooring and the plasterboard ceiling underneath that. There are, of course, no drainage holes in this tray (if you wanted them it would be a second's effort to drill them). In order to detect the leak I've placed two water alarms Ex-Pro® Water Alarm - Detects Leaks, Moisture, flood, overflow etc.. [PACK of 2 ] in the tray too, to alert me should a problem arise (rather than causing the earth leakage box to trip like it did last time as the pump was, by then, partially submerged in water). This is sturdy and made out of that flexible plastic that should never crack so I feel confident it will last the lifetime of the shower pump. There is a slight, central rise in the tray (ie it does not lay perfectly flat when empty) but when filled with gravel (or a shower pump) the weight ensures it lays flat. Not the cheapest tray I could find, but the size and quality makes it very good value for money.

I was looking for a tray for my tortoise's enclosure whose measurements needed to be exact and after ALOT of searching came across this tray. I am so pleased with it, it is sturdy and robust, sides are not too high but high enough to contain substrate, easy to clean, value for money and couldn't fit any more perfectly in his enclosure.

Like a few other reviews I bought this as a cat litter tray for one of my cats. He's still a youngster but not the most coordinated and had to have his legs operated on meaning he has struggled to use normal litter trays. The number of times we've had him fall back into his litter or knocked over a tray trying to get in or out and seeing him struggle despite us trying everything has been heartbreaking. We'd tried cheap ones, expensive ones, big ones and small ones, square one and oblong ones, we even tried using the lids of old storage boxes and were close to giving up... Then we found this. Sturdy enough to hold plenty of litter, low enough to be easily accessible, big enough to give space for our little man to manoeuvre. I wish we'd found it earlier. I can't say it's the most elegant solution or the easiest to clean and the low sides mean litter can easily be kicked over the sides but honestly, it makes our little man's life easier and causes him less discomfort than anything else we've tried and that's more than enough to make us happy.

I usually plant my pots up sitting on the lawn, I add water to the bottom of the tray and stand the new pots in as I go. The great thing about this tray is size as it means I can easy pick it up on my own off the lawn even when full up with plants and as it’s good quality the tray does not flex too much as I do so.
